Jasper hadn’t known what to expect when he had followed Sorrel into the warehouse district. The silver hair filled with flowers was quite feminine but the flat chest and slightly broader shoulders and even the walk suggested a boy. He wondered if perhaps they was the correct address. Just the sight of them taking Al down like he was a puppy induced shivers. Jasper had honestly just intended to watch until he heard Sorrel muttering about using the same amount of force to knock out the guys in the warehouse they had snuck up to. Jasper didn’t know much about the group, having been introduced to them when they first came to the Bellare Industrial and Recreational District, or BIRD as most of the clubs referred to it. For the most part they where magic using humans of lower rank Realmskin. No way could they handle the force of a blow the same as the one that had nocked and enraged Beastskin out cold. Reflexively Jasper went forward and gave a warning. He was surprised at how relaxed Sorrel was. It was if he wasn’t surprised that someone had just come up behind him to offer unsolicited advice. Even having a conversation with them didn’t seem to indicate a particular gender and he really couldn’t think of a tactful way to ask. Following Sorrel into the warehouse was a spur of the moment decision Jasper was really just too curious. He couldn’t resist his curiosity, so he stopped trying. Then once he watched the process Jasper somewhat regretted going into watch. As they say comparisons are odious and watching the ease with which Sorrel dispatched the group with an ease and grace Jasper could not match was positively envious. “You know if you just wanted to help you could have just come to the door and offered?” William, the witch who was the tentative leader of the group commented as Sorrel straightened away from Noel. Jasper admitted to himself of being shocked when Sorrel seemed to up and kiss first William and then Noel only to realise that they didn’t actually even touch lips and that whatever Sorrel had done had almost instantly healed the two guys. The slight flush on the leader’s cheeks had faded now and he looked healthy. While Noel recovered at a visible speed. “Well for one I kinda thought you where all humans and thus not aware other so didn’t’ have a good way to offer. Besides, I was told it was a test to see if I could infiltrate and retrieve the seed. Oh, actually Jasper can you check the first guy I got with the glasses I may still have used to much force?” Sorrel c****d his head as he looked at William and Jasper could see the legitimate confusion in their expression. It was clear that just like Sorrel hadn’t known who Jasper was despite seeming to be aware of what he was that Sorrel was equally ignorant of both who and what any of Williams group where. Jasper nodded in response to Sorrel’s question and headed over to where Simon was splayed out on the ground. The young sorcerer had taken a hard hit and it was only by sheer luck that he avoided falling on top of the complex shield enchantment he had been working out. Judging by the sheer number of clauses it would have been outright tragic if Simon’s work had been lost by him accidentally collapsing on top of it as he was knocked out. Healing was a very basic skill for all Angelskin and as a Seraphim Jasper had more power for it than the lowered ranked. Thus, it took only a light touch to the back of the head to heal the minor concussion and bruising that Simon had gotten from Sorrel’s forceful chop. “So, um, Miss, Mr Uh….” Grahame had come to while Sorrel had been healing Noel but had, apparently missed Sorrel saying his name. He was wringing his hands as he periodically ineffectively wiped at the smudges of dust on his face and clothes “Sorrel, technically Mr Sorrel, though I personally don’t care one way or the other.” Sorrel chuckled as he cut in to put Grahame out of his misery. Jasper blinked twice as he straightened. So he was stressing about what to call him for absolutely nothing because Sorrel was as easy going over pronouns as he was about everything else. Jasper was fairly comfortable with his sense of self but even he couldn’t claim to not care if someone called him a girl. That being said he also didn’t think he could pull off the look of long silver hair woven with flowers. The leathers maybe, particularly to tease a certain imp but he digressed. Perking his ears up Jasper waited for the follow up to Graham’s stumbling not really surprise when it came from William instead the other man taking over from his nervous gremlin friend. “Can you… Or are you in a club?” Will asked. While he wasn’t as bad as Grahame it was still apparent that he was quite nervous. “No? I’ve only just been allowed out so I wouldn’t even know how to go about joining.” Sorrel responded. He seemed to be completely at ease with the despite the fact that anyone else who had come to the notorious area would have only done so with the intention to join one of the famous clubs. Jasper was half tempted to invite him to join Riven Time but then again Kayad hadn’t said anything when he had let me tail Sorrel not to mention Jasper would have felt bad asking in front of the other guys given how they had been refused by the other gangs to the point where they hadn’t even thought to come to Riven Time. Though given the initiation requirements they probably wouldn’t have made the cut anyway which likely would have been more crushing. “They would you, you know like to start a club with us you can be the leader. I know where not really very impressive, but we will work really hard.” Fable tugged at his platinum blonde hair as he sidled closer to Sorrel from where he had been watching from behind William. He and his cousin Foster where both Foxskin, but from what Jasper understood the pureblood Beastskin had been there great-grandparent who mated a mage. Whose children had mated a sorcerers and their parents where all witches. Which caused the pair to be closer to a human magic user than a Beastskin in nature despite still having a second form. Really the entire group would be quite formidable in a life fight because magic made things unpredictable but the fights in BIRD where about a challenge of strength and in that the group always came up lacking. Most of the clubs had a few magic users and a couple of vamps but a group wanting to join together consisting entirely of high magic members was not welcomed. Especially when many groups preferred to rely on Angleskin and Demonskin for high workings simply caus their connections to magic was stronger being from a magic rich plane. Human magic didn’t work the same and so was thought too not be as formidable. Jasper had never fought outright against a human magic user so he couldn’t say but the complexity of the ward that Simon produced raised doubts as to the weakness of their magic.
