Chapter 6

After getting off of the car, I didn't even wait for Bella and run straight to where the graduation program is being held. "What the hell was that" Bella caught up with me and tried to talk me about what happened in the car but I acted as if I don't know what she's talking about. "what the hell was what" I replied. "Don't you dare play dumb tricks with me, girl you know what I'm talking about, the almighty Damon Robertson taking a nap on your on your laps? Girl, I can't believe this the man is insane with you he's mad over you, he's head over heels with you". She said playfully and happily. "The program is about to start let's take our seats over there". I told her and ignored what she told me knowing I don't have anything to say about it and not wanting to hear anymore of what she has in her mouth. My plan worked perfectly well she shut up and followed right behind me. I took my seat and she sat right beside me.

The program started a while ago and my mind was elsewhere I wasn't paying attention at all I was thinking about Damon and what he did in the car a minutes ago. How could he be so comfortable with me. I have heard so many stories about him including his taste in women. It is said that he had never been in a serious relationship before he sleeps with the women and leaves them the next day because he thinks women are men's weakness. His mother was his father's weakness that's why his father didn't survive when his mother died. How could a person thinks like that he's such an over thinker. I see it as a pure love because when two people fall in love they find it difficult to live without each other like my mum and dad so why does he thinks is a weakness. My grandma loves him very much she hasn't met him before but she always watches the news when it's about him. One day I asked my grandma why she gets excited whenever his name or his picture pops up on TV, is it because he's handsome or does she have any connections with the Robertson. And then she said that when Mrs Robertson (Damon's mother) was giving birth to Damon she was at the hospital with her. She when she went into labour she could see the fear in her eyes because that was her first time giving her first born and no one was beside her. Mrs. Robertson lost her parents at a very young age and her husband Mr. Robertson( Damon's Dad) was on his way from a business trip when he heard his wife is in labour. My grandma said she went to her side to comfort her on the bed and said sweet words to her till the baby came out successfully. She held the baby in her hand and he was very tiny and adorable. When the nurse told her it was a boy she was over joy because that's what she was praying for her husband arrived at that instance he came to hug his wife and said sorry to her for not being there with her then he took the baby from the nurse he was very happy he called the baby Damon and encouraging words to the baby. She said the couple were very happy for their first born. My grandma said the woman told her about what she did for her and her husband came to thank my grandma a lot but she told him it okay she is happy for them and she left them to do what she came there for. She said she didn't know who they were at that time until she saw it on the news about what happened to them. Since then she had been monitoring Damon and watches the news because of him. She said she is happy how successful Damon has grown to be just like his father.I could see sadness in her eyes as she was telling me the story. As I was lost in my thoughts, I didn't hear my name being called until someone tapped my shoulder "thinking about me". I was very shocked when I saw him "your facial expression tells me you are". he said while looking dead in my eyes. "As if" I replied and took his hand from my shoulder but he held my hand instead. "Your name is being called several times but you were lost, so let me take you there because I bet you can go there with all these eyes on you". he said and I looked around me to see everyone starting at me. Hey what have I done for all of you to look at me like that. I wish I could say that out loud to them to make them stop staring at me. I didn't decline his offer so I allowed him to take me up there. I walked hand in hand with him across the stage to get my degree certificate. The chancellor said congratulations to me and handed me the folded paper and stretch his hand to shake mine but Damon took it instead. He walked down the stage with me and I could see all jealous eyes on me from the girls. What's their problem. I got to my seat and my best friend was grinning at me I ignored her and took my seat beside her and Damon sat right behind me and husband driver was sitting beside him. "Why is he sitting here". I asked Bella in a small tone but the devil Damon heard it and answered me "I have been sitting here since the program started but you decided to get lost with my thoughts in your head so you didn't notice me when I entered and sat here". What is he talking about and how did you he know I was thinking about him... hmmn whatever I won't mind him. I could see from the corner of my left eye that Bella was still grinning and staring at me. I know this girl really has something up on her sleeves.
