"Home sweet home"
I watched as mom examined our home with a smile on her face. I took her bag to her room before going back downstairs to see her in deep, deep thought.
"mom? What's wrong?, I asked going beside and wrapping my arms around her.
" I'm just overwhelmed you know? Apart of me was thinking that I wouldn't be here today".
"Well you're here, and right now is the happiest I've ever been".
I gave her a small smile before hugging her and kissing her cheek. After I pulled away I went to the bag with a few groceries that I bought and started preparing some soup for her. The doctor said that she must consume soft foods for now; maybe in the next few months she can start eating solid foods.
