Emma Pov
Emma stood on the deck of the luxurious cruise ship, the wind whipping her hair into a frenzy as she gazed out at the endless expanse of turquoise water. She was supposed to be on this New Year's cruise with her boyfriend, Ryan, but that was before she caught him cheating on her with her best friend.
Determined to make Ryan regret his infidelity, Emma had concocted a plan. She would find a handsome stranger on the cruise and pretend to be his girlfriend, just to make Ryan jealous.
That's when she saw him - Jack, a tall, dark, and devastatingly handsome stranger who was standing alone at the bar. Emma felt a spark of attraction, and she knew that she had found the perfect fake boyfriend.

Emma took a deep breath and walked over to the bar, her heels clicking on the polished floor. She slid onto the stool next to Jack and smiled brightly at him.
"Hi," she said, trying to sound casual. "Mind if I join you?"
Jack turned to her and smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Not at all," he said, his voice deep and smooth. "I'm Jack."
"I'm Emma," she replied, holding out her hand.
As they shook hands, Emma felt a spark of electricity run through her body. She couldn't help but notice the way Jack's eyes seemed to bore into her soul, or the way his smile made her feel like she was the only person in the world.
"So, Emma," Jack said, releasing her hand. "What brings you on this cruise?"
Emma hesitated for a moment, unsure of how much to reveal. But there was something about Jack that made her feel like she could trust him.
"I'm here to get away from my ex," she said, trying to sound casual. "He cheated on me, and I needed a break."
Jack's expression turned sympathetic. "I'm sorry to hear that," he said. "But I'm glad you're here. Maybe we can help each other forget our troubles."
Emma smiled, feeling a sense of connection with Jack. "Maybe we can," she said.
As they chatted and laughed together, Emma found herself feeling more and more at ease. She couldn't believe how easy it was to talk to Jack, or how much she enjoyed his company.
Before she knew it, the night had slipped away, and the ship's band was playing the countdown to midnight. Emma felt a sense of excitement and anticipation as she turned to Jack.
"Want to kiss me at midnight?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Jack's eyes locked onto hers, and he smiled. "I'd love to," he said.
As the clock struck midnight, Emma and Jack shared a romantic kiss under the stars. It was the perfect moment, and Emma felt like she was on top of the world.
But as they pulled away from each other, Emma realized that she had forgotten one very important thing - she was only supposed to be pretending to be Jack's girlfriend.
So why did it feel so real?
As the night wore on, Emma found herself getting more and more caught up in the fantasy of being Jack's girlfriend. They danced under the stars, shared romantic dinners, and even took a moonlit stroll around the ship's deck.
But despite the magic of the night, Emma couldn't shake off the feeling that she was living a lie. She was pretending to be something she wasn't, and it didn't feel right.
As the evening drew to a close, Emma excused herself to go to the bathroom. As she was washing her hands, she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror.
Who are you kidding? she thought to herself. You're not really Jack's girlfriend. You're just pretending to be.
Feeling a pang of guilt, Emma made her way back to Jack's side. But as she approached him, she saw something that made her heart skip a beat.
Ryan, her cheating ex-boyfriend, was standing on the other side of the room, staring straight at her.
Emma's eyes locked onto Ryan's, and she felt a surge of anger and hurt. What was he doing here?
But before she could react, Jack slipped his arm around her waist and pulled her close.
"Hey, everything okay?" he whispered in her ear.
Emma nodded, trying to play it cool. But inside, she was seething.
Little did she know, her fake relationship with Jack was about to get a whole lot more complicated.

Emma tried to shake off the feeling of unease that had settled in her stomach. She didn't want Ryan tofto ruin her night, not when she was having so much fun with Jack.
"Everything's fine," she said, smiling up at Jack. "Just a little surprised to see someone I know."
Jack's eyes narrowed slightly, and he followed her gaze to Ryan. "Ex-boyfriend?" he asked, his voice low and even.
Emma nodded, feeling a pang of embarrassment. "Yeah."
Jack's arm tightened around her waist. "Don't worry, I've got you," he said, his voice full of reassurance.
Emma felt a surge of gratitude towards Jack. He was being so kind and supportive, and she couldn't help but feel drawn to him.
As the night wore on, Emma found herself getting more and more caught up in the fantasy of being Jack's girlfriend. They danced and laughed together, and Emma even found herself feeling a little bit jealous when Jack talked to other women.
But every time she looked over at Ryan, who was watching her with a mixture of anger and regret, Emma was reminded of why she was pretending to be Jack's girlfriend in the first place.
She was doing it to make Ryan jealous, to make him realize what he had lost. And as she looked up at Jack, who was smiling down at her with such kindness and warmth, Emma couldn't help but wonder if maybe, just maybe, she was getting in over her head.
Was she really just pretending to be Jack's girlfriend, or was she starting to develop real feelings for him?

As the night wore on, Emma found herself getting more and more lost in Jack's eyes. She couldn't believe how easy it was to talk to him, how much they had in common.
But every time she started to feel like she was getting too close, Emma reminded herself that this was all just a ruse. She was only pretending to be Jack's girlfriend to make Ryan jealous.
As the evening drew to a close, Jack walked Emma back to her cabin. They stood outside her door, lingering in the hallway.
"I had a really great time tonight," Jack said, smiling down at her.
Emma smiled back, feeling a flutter in her chest. "Me too," she said.
Jack leaned in, his face inches from hers. "I was thinking," he said, his voice low and husky. "Maybe we could make this fake relationship a little more real."
Emma's heart skipped a beat. What was Jack saying? Did he really want to take their fake relationship to the next level?
"I don't know," she said, trying to sound casual. "I'm not sure that's a good idea."
Jack's face fell, but he quickly recovered. "No worries," he said, smiling. "I just thought I'd ask."
Emma smiled back, feeling a pang of guilt. She had been so caught up in the fantasy of their fake relationship that she had forgotten that Jack was a real person, with real feelings.
As she watched Jack walk away, Emma couldn't help but wonder if she had made a mistake. Should she have taken a chance on Jack, or was she better off sticking to her original plan?
Little did she know, her decision was about to become a lot more complicated.
