I woke up suddenly in the hospital. I look around. I was in a hospital gown surrounded by machines. Suddenly I realized that someone had to undress me to get the gown on. That made me feel weirded out and kinda nauseating having someone undress you. The door opened. It was a nurse, a female nurse. Oh you're awake, the nurse said in a calm voice. Yes yes I am I replied did you— she cut me off yes don’t worry I undressed you to put the hospital gown on. Don’t worry I’m used to this. The nurse winked
That made me feel a lot better oh thank the lord I mumbled. Anyway, how did I get here? A neighbor heard it and called the police. Was it Mrs Thompson I ask. I’m not sure the nurse responded. I sighed ok but I know it was her that old lady was too observant for her own damn good. She was like the neighborhood watch but as one person. So how bad is it? You have a concussion, a small one but from the looks of it you're not that hurt that badly apart from a few bruises and cuts but yeah other than the concussion it’s not terrible.
That’s a relief I thought. The doctor soon came in and the nurse talked to him about my results. The doctor nodded and with that being said the nurse walked out of the room. The doctor looked at me so do you remember anything? No, I responded. I rubbed my head trying to remember. But I just couldn't because everything was so fuzzy it’s like a faded memory or I was completely overreacting and blowing this whole thing out of proportion. I pinched myself and blinked my eyes twice trying to establish and this wasn’t a dream that it was real.
Ok at least I know I’m not dreaming I whisper to myself. Did you say something the doctor said looking at me with a raised eyebrow. No I didn't, I said. The doctor shrugged and then finished with my examination and walked out letting the door shut. I sat up in my bed and I winced a little bit from my injuries. With a deep sigh I thought who was X. But I couldn’t remember anything because my head hurts so much now everything is fuzzy. The door opens Two figures rush in it was Millie and Eric. AUDREY! Millie yelled out in fact it was so loud that the doctor had to shush her.
SHH the doctor said sternly
S-Sorry Millie said quietly
Eric stepped forward beside Millie. Anyway, how are you? We heard what happened. He said calmly trying to put on a brace for me. I saw that he was probably panicking inside, probably not as much as Millie but still. We heard about X breaking into your house. Me and Millie rushed over as soon as we could. Where’s Officer Robbins and Tristan I ask. They are investigating the accident along with the other officers. Oh believe me once Tristan heard he practically begged to come here Millie replied. That’s why Eric probably won’t be staying long. I made a deal with Tristian saying that you can help search for 15 minutes and then Eric will come and you both can switch
Oh that sounds like a good idea because I’m sure Tristian is worried sick. I better go. I'm glad your ok Eric said hugging me. He turned and walked out of the room, his shoes pounding against the hospital floor. The hospital was big so there was no doubt about it that Tristan was gonna get lost. After about 15 minutes of walking through the halls he didn’t see any staff. He shrugged it off thinking it was nothing.
He finally finds the waiting room. He opened the doors and saw a bunch of people sitting in the waiting room. Oh that’s where all the hospital staff are, he mumbled I guess the hospital wasn’t as busy as he thought. Probably the other half of the people are at the police station all probably reporting X at the same time.
I walked out of the hospital when I was Tristan darting past me. He really wanted to see Audrey. Well that doesn’t surprise me those two are super close. Kinda like me and Tristan. We were now getting somewhere with Audrey in the hospital. That means her house is unguarded so that means X will be going to her house more often if he thinks it’s unguarded.
Suddenly I had an idea
We were going to try and catch X in the act….
