1095 Words
“Gem, I can feel you. What’s wrong?” Baden voice pierce the silence of her mind. This seemed utterly unfair to Alicia even more so now. Baden just sensed her unhappiness and sort her out immediately. A small smile forming on her face, knowing how much he cared. “I am fine Baden, just had a disagreement with Alex about Alicia. I don’t understand at all, he doesn’t feel the pull of the mate bond. God if you treated me the way he does her… I don’t even.” “Gem they will work it out, bonds all strengthen at different rates and to different levels. Try not to push them, they will get there in their own time. Plus you should just focus more on our bond and stamina.” Baden couldn’t help himself from adding it. Gemma cheeks flushed bright red as Sarah entered the room with a smile. Seeing her face Sarah laughed, “tell him to bother someone else. We have got lots to do.” ************** “Sarah is here, I’ll talk with you later.” With that Gemma cut off the link leaving Baden quite unhappy hoping he would have more time to speak with her. Her mind linking was getting better every time she used it. Also being able to project into her mind was a huge weight off his shoulders, so now he could check on her whenever he needed. Ian stood off to Baden’s side calling him every ten seconds or so. Finally having returned what he was doing Baden scowled at Ian who almost jumped back at the sudden glare. “Every time it seems to be your mate that takes my Gem’s time and attention.” Though he knew Baden was half making a joke, Ian still mentally reminded himself to speak to Sarah later. Baden was becoming increasingly difficult to nail down to get work done. However, he also mentally was doing much better. An to be honest physically so was the office and house alike. Not even half as many incidents, and if he started to lose control somehow Gem managed to tame him in seconds. Gosh her presence was like a magical cure. “Last one Alpha.” Baden let out a relieved breath as he took the paper from Ian’s hands. Getting distracted at the thought of seeing Gemma, Baden re-read the document no less then ten times before looking to Ian. “Is it all good?” “Yes Alpha”. Not wanting to read it again since he didn’t take it in the first ten times, Baden took a pen signing his name before handing the paper back. Standing up Baden took large strides towards the door so he could head upstairs to see Gemma and get dressed. “Alpha, Sarah had our suits brought to your office.” Nervously twitching he added, “as per tradition you are to meet Luna in the Grand Hall.” Baden furrowed his brows having no recollection of such a tradition, but didn’t protest as he quickly turned to his heels to get the suit now held out by Ian. Ian sweated thinking he had been caught in his lie. God he couldn’t say Sarah just refused to have Baden see Gemma before she was ready. Yet he couldn’t disobey Sarah either, her happiness was his everything. Those two always collided causing his nerves to grow, Gemma had honestly only helped since she came. Though this was the first time he had ever had to lie to Baden, and he didn’t feel secure about it. He would have to beg Luna for help later if something went awry and he found out. Finally having dressed, Baden and Ian met with Zac as the three entered the Hall together. The decorations turned the hall into a completely different space from yesterdays introduction. Lights hung from the high celling as all the doors leading to the large patio space was open. Tables ran the length of the far wall full of sweets as waiters walked through the crowded space with food and drink. A red carpet led the way from the double doors to the stage where the two thrones still stood proudly awaiting Baden and Gemma’s arrival. The packs in attendance mingled loudly coming to an abrupt halt as Baden entered. His eyes search the room for Gemma, as a silence caused his footsteps to echo through the room. Having not found her he walked to the stage taking his seat with an unhappy expression covering his face, “Ian, where is she?” “On her way, they are…. .” Pausing on his final word Baden turned his gaze to Ian before following his line of site. At the double door stood Gemma, with a smiled plastered to her face as she took a few steps forward. Eyes from everywhere landed on her pale slender body. The blue dress was like the night sky, her hair in contrast the moon. Her long white locks rolling down her shoulders. Crystals littered the base of the dress like stars. Looking up, Gemma met Baden’s gaze blushing harshly. Baden couldn’t take his eyes from her figure, until he realized most the males in the room seemingly had the same problem. Jealously blooming in his chest as growl surfaced in his throat daring any man to approach. Before anyone had the chance to move a single step Baden stood, swiftly striding to her side. His hand skimmed down her arm rounding to the small of her back. Pulling her into his body, his other hand slipped in place on her chin lifting it for a gentle passionate kiss. The packs around the room almost couldn’t believe their eyes. This man, this vicious unapproachable man who struck fear in the hearts of every Alpha. He just melted under the touch of this little women. Everyone’s interest was peaked as Baden finally released a very red Gemma, taking her hand to lead her to the stage to take her rightful place beside him. Hey guys I hope you enjoy the chapter.
