Chapter 33 - I Hear You Gem

919 Words
Gemma woke to the scent of blood filling her nostrils. She quickly looked around herself startled to find Zac on the floor near her covered in blood. It looked like someone had taken a knife and just slit in every direction on any and every surface of his skin. Gemma was at his side in a heart beat ripping her dress to get material to place to his wounds. Zac was unconscious and there was nobody else in the vicinity. She was never one to approach a male, but Zac had helped her and though they had a rocky beginning she trusted him. Taking a better look around she realized she was in a cell. Tears pricked at her eyes as her anxiety heightened beyond measure. “Gem! Gem can you hear me?” Baden spoke clearly into her mind, he had felt her emotions so strongly that he almost dropped to his knees from his standing position in his office. “Bae, you probably can’t hear me because I’m so f*****g useless. Zac looks dead, he is unconscious and barely breathing. I’m scared. I’m so scared. Where am I?” Anxiety took over her body as she trembled still trying to apply pressure to Zac’s wound as she began hyperventilating. “I hear you loud and clear Gem.” Baden’s voice echoed through Gemma’s head. Happiness over whelmed her. Continuing, “don’t worry princess, I will find you. A woman named Amelia has taken…” With a slam of a door Gemma jumped, a squeak leaving her lips in fear. Abruptly cut off by Gemma’s feared squeal Baden’s anger rose, “Gem what is happening? Tell me.” Gemma could hear the worry lacing his tone as he tried to remain calm for her. Two figures entered, both rapidly approaching the cell. “We finally meet Gemma, my name is Amelia. I believe we have a friend in common.” “Bae”, Gemma shouted both out loud and through mind link. “Bae help me.” A single tear slid down Gemma’s cheek as the second and masked figure unlocked the cell down. Swiftly closing the gap between them the masked person gripped Gemma by her hair and dragged her from the cell. Unable to control the mind link as Baden fought to keep it open, Baden felt as Gemma’s body was dragged along the floor as if it was his own. Thrown on a metal table, she was strapped in tightly with the two bodies looming over her. Gemma couldn’t even talk, she was beyond scared. Baden felt the cold metal on his back as his wrists and ankles started to burn. “Gemma?” He yelled to her trying to get a response to no avail. Gemma was frozen on the table, to often had she been tortured. It was something she had never thought to feel again, yet here she was. As her wrists and ankles sizzled under the silver she couldn’t help but once again relive her past as she braced for the pain. “I wanted Baden for myself”. Amelia screamed, “you will suffer, like I suffered. Do you know what he did to..” Gemma couldn’t hear her voice anymore. Amelia had palmed a knife and started cutting. Gemma screamed in pain until her throat was so raw that all she could do was lay motionless as her as blood poured from the cuts. The drops splashing on the floor were almost a reminder of the rain. Gemma couldn’t help but smile remembering the rain, the feeling of it hitting her skin and chilling her body. Gosh thinking of anything was better then this. Baden could only feel the pain with you and keep whispering to her, “it’s okay princess, be strong. I will find you.” The fact that Gemma didn’t respond to any of his words that were flowing constantly set his anxiety on end. Soon he could feel Gemma weaken significantly as she was losing consciousness. Gemma blacking out, he was shut off. Just before he was evicted from her mind he heard her voice, “Amelia is not alone, a girl I think.” Baden didn’t know what he could do. His wolf was trying to claw to the surface to be let out, but Baden couldn’t allow him. Destroying things would waste time and Gemma needed him, she needed him now. Mind linking Ian he shared the new scrap of information that they had already assumed, she had help. Every stone they turned over was a dead end. He couldn’t understand how Amelia had hidden so well. She had no friends that they knew of, so who was helping her? She had not been in contact with her family since she had been exiled. They didn’t even know where she had ended up staying or if she continued as a rogue or joined a new pack. Leads were few and far between, Baden needed a plan. Hey guys I hope you enjoy the chapter.
