Chapter 40 - Everything you stole from me

1090 Words
Turning away from Zac’s hanging bloodied corpse, Alicia walked to Amelia’s side. Her shoes hitting the floor heavily as she took swift strides displaying her dark mood and haste to be done with this situation. Alicia looked down upon Gemma’s pale face, her eyes tightly shut. She appeared to be trying not to react to the pain being inflicted across her body. Alicia felt the rage within her stepping closer yet again, “your brother loves you more than me. I am his mate! He was supposed to be mine! You brainwashed him!” Alicia words were spat out venomously as her eyes pierced into Gemma’s. Having just opened her glassy eyes at the sound of Alicia’s voice, Gemma lips parted slightly in shock. Confusion hit Gemma like a tonne of bricks. Why was Alicia in front of her, what was going on? Realizing the masked figure was no longer present, Gemma’s world came crashing down around her. Alicia was the masked figure, Alicia betrayed her, her brother and her pack. She killed Zac without hesitation, tears streaked down Gemma’s face, “How could you?” Before Gemma could utter another word or recover from the shock of this new development, there was pain. A sharp pain shot through Gemma’s neck as Amelia carved out the skin of her neck. She hacked away at Gemma’s flesh with no restraint or hesitation. The pain was unbearable, but it was not just pain, it was something else. Something was tearing, ripping away from her. It was like her sole was being pried from her body. Baden’s image flashed through her mind, their bond shattering into a thousand pieces like her bond to the pack, destroyed in seconds. Gemma watched Amelia in horror. Finally taking a step back with a hunk of flesh in her bloodied hands, Amelia smiled wickedly. With a shrill voice Amelia draped the piece of flesh against her own neck, “me this should have been me. This is my mark, you stole it!” Pointing down to Gemma’s stomach, “that is also mine, by the end of today I will take back everything you stole from me.” Panic set Gemma’s heart in a flurry, Amelia had broken her bond with Baden. She didn’t even know that was possible. Watching Amelia move to a bench with a mirror she continue to hold Baden’s mark to her neck like she was deciding where to place it. As Gemma’s heart rate continued to increase so did the flow of blood pooling on the table from her neck. The pain was unbearably excruciating, while the blood loss rapidly caused her vision to falter. Gemma tried to move, but was still unable to make it even an inch under the restraints. She had to escape, she had to protect her child. Trying to mind link Alex, the only person she still shared a bond with, she failed, she was too weak. Hearing a scream ripple through the space, Gemma tilted her head looking over too Alicia who suddenly griped her head with force. Gemma’s eyesight had already formed patches of darkness, faltering completely she lost her senses as she sunk into darkness. Alicia fell to her knees screaming in pain as Alex forcefully attacked her barriers, trying to invade her mind. Amelia jumped around the table moving to her side trying to lift her from the floor. Managing to get Alicia’s arm over her shoulder she stood supporting her to the lift around the corner. Alicia continued to fight the onslaught as she screamed at the pain, putting everything she had into trying to hold up her walls. Reaching the elevator Amelia propped Alicia against the wall rail reaching out to press the button, running her eyes over the female. “What is wrong with you?” Amelia’s voice contained a note of irritation. “Alex, he knows something, he is trying to break through.” Without hesitation and with the prospect of capture imminent, Amelia pulled her blade out her pocket. Alicia was just a means to an end anyway, she had her own agenda, some of which did not match Amelia’s. Now she was also a risk, an unnecessary risk. She was easy to pull in and manipulate, this location she provided was perfect, and in terms of capturing Gemma she made the task easier than expected. Having now run the course of her usefulness, Amelia moved her hand around the back of the unsuspecting, hunched over Alicia. Stabbing the knife to the hilt into the centre of Alicia’s back, a wave of strength filled her. This was a partnership, but right now Alicia could ruin the whole plan. Alicia screamed as the blade was twisted in her skin before being ripped out and replaced a few inches over. Total control lost, her mental walls broke instantaneously, unable to focus of anything but the pain. Alex suddenly overwhelmed Alicia’s mind, consuming her every thought and memory. He was not gentle, he ripped through her mind like it was a piece of paper, tearing it to shreds to find the information her wanted faster. Like the blade, both were tearing her apart. A whisper on her lips sent a rage through Amelia, “Bunker, we are in the bunker, west of the boundary. I am sor..” The final word dying on her lips, before slumping to the ground away from Amelia. Amelia had to make a quick decision, stick to the plan, but risk it being unsuccessful. Or make a run for it. She had not spent years planning on ways to get Baden, to give up right at the end. She would obtain Baden’s love if it killed her, or many others in the process. Looking down, she watched the blood pool around Alicia’s body. “You are a traitor Alicia, I should have killed you earlier!” Her voice turning shrill as she screamed at the lifeless corpse now bleeding out on the floor, “now you have ruined everything!” Hey guys I hope you enjoy the chapter.
