It had been four hours, Baden had been drifting in and out of consciousness for the first two. Now still somewhat weakened, he stayed on the bed sitting against the headboard with Gemma’s head resting in his lap. To him, it almost appeared like she was sleeping quietly. Physically, she was fine, she had been checked over time and time again in the last four hours for the same diagnosis. Gemma was fine, she was healthy, not a single mark or injury left on her body. Saliva and jealousy building quickly in his mouth and heart, Baden swallowed it down watching Derick grow closer to the bed.
