I woke up with a sudden cold shiver. I looked at David sitting at the edge of the bed. I grabbed my phone and saw it was eight in the morning. He turned and saw I was awake.
“Good morning.” I said crawling over to him.
“Hunter will come pick you up to take you to Sam’s around six.” David said as I rubbed my hands over his back.
“When will you be back?” I asked.
“I’ll be there as soon as I get back to town. Rematch with Garrett is set.” David said.
“Im going to miss you all day.” I said kissing his cheek.
“Not as much as I’m going to miss you.” David smiled and I leaned in kissing him.
“Im going to pretty much stay in. Maybe look around as I plan to change all your decor while your gone.” I said scooting off the bed.
“Ok, you do that.” David laughed standing up. I dug around my bag and got stuff out to wear. David stood by me and I looked at him. “Im heading out. Message me if anything happens.” I could tell he was worried.
“I promise you, I’ll message if anything at all happens.” I said and David hugged me. “Everything is going to be ok. Stop worrying!” I said as I felt him nod.
“Ok, I’ll try not to worry about everything.” David said kissing my forehead and heading out. I finished grabbing our my clothes and went to the shower. This was going to be a long day.
*David’s perspective.*
“David, you just texted her. Put the phone down and let’s get ready for this meeting.” Will was growing annoyed with me as he parked the car.
“Im sorry if this annoys you, you should’ve let me skip the meeting.” I said as we got out of the car.
“Im sure Ryan appreciates the break.” Will said as we walked to the front doors.
“Haha, very funny.” I said as we approached the elevators. I bounced as we waited.
“Stop that.” Will said.
“Everything I do just annoys you.” I said.
“Well yes, I thought that was obvious.” Will said as the doors to the elevator opened. We stepped in and Will pressed the top floor button. We were quiet as the elevator rose.
“This music is terrible.” I said as the elevator played some weird classic jazz.
“You say that every time we’re here.” Will said as the doors opened. We walked out and down the hall. The building was mostly empty because it was Saturday. We made our way to the conference room. We entered and a few people were already present.
“Good morning gentlemen!” We heard and I completely ignored them. I went to the large window and looked out.
“We’ll start shortly. Mr. Featherman is on his way.” I heard and turned back. I took my seat by Will and pulled my phone out once more to check it. Nothing more then I miss you too from Ryan.
“So is everything burning down without you?” Will whispered.
“No, she just misses me.” I said with a sigh and put my phone away. The doors opened and my father and his assistant walked in. They were in a heated discussion until he sat.
“Enough! Let’s start.” My dad said and everyone nodded. I couldn’t concentrate as everyone went over their department numbers. Old business and new business.
“David. DAVID!” I heard my dad.
“Oh yes, sir.” I said looking up the table at him.
“The report?” He asked and I nodded.
“Yes, right here. Everything is going well and as you can see from the report, accounting is moving at a faster past recently.” I moved the list up to him.
“Perfect, perfect.” My dad said flipping the pages. The room was quiet as he did so. “The next part of this meeting will be just us. Everyone else can be excused.” My dad said and I was suddenly worried.
“What’s this about?” I asked William quickly and he shrugged. Soon it was just us and my dad’s assistant Dennis.
“So how are things with George out of town?” My dad asked.
“He is back today. Things were fine.” Will answered.
“And?” My dad asked looking at me.
“And, he’s back?” I looked around nervously.
“George said you had news.” My dad said staring at me. I looked at Will and Will looked between us.
“David found his mate.” Will blurted out and I sighed.
“David! My boy!” My dad clapped his hands and stood. I stood up and he hugged me. “This is great news! Finally! All my sons have found their mates!” My dad laughed.
“Great news David.” Dennis added.
“When do I meet her?” My dad asked and I stood there. “Just bring her with you next time.” My dad said looking to Will. “And you never bring my Audra anymore!” My dad scolded.
“She gets bored being by herself for hours.” Will said.
“Now she’ll have company when David brings…” my dad looked at me.
“Ryan.” I said and he looked at me in shock.
“Her name is Ryan.” Will said.
“Oh goddess David, you scared me. I thought suddenly it clicked why we had to wait ten years to find her.” My dad slightly laughed and Will joined in.
“I’m not sure if the first meeting should be here in a office.” I said and my dad nodded.
“Very well. DENNIS!” My dad turned.
“Sir?” He replied.
“Cancel next weeks meeting. Inform everyone I will be taking the day off. I’m going home to meet my new future daughter in law.” My dad said proudly.
“Dad really, you don’t have to do that.” I said and he shook his head.
“Nonsense David. This is a important moment. Audra can plan a amazing dinner and I can see my grandson.” My dad smiled and pat my back.
“Sounds great!” Will added and my dad pat his back.
“This is the best news I’ve received all day! Let’s go have lunch.” My dad said and walked to Dennis. They were talking about different restaurants.
“Why Will?” I said sitting next to him.
“George practically told him. Are you going to wait until he shows up or are you going to tell him before that she’s a human?” Will whispered. Thankfully my dads hearing was not what it used to be.
“How do I tell him?” I said and Will shrugged.
“Boys!” I heard my dad bellow.
“Yes?” Will said standing up.
“Let’s go! Dennis knows the best place to celebrate and David can tell me everything about Ryan.” My dad smiled wide as we got up and head towards the door.
