Chapter 40 - All in.

I woke up in David’s embrace. His soft breaths as he slept were so cute. I touched his face and felt his stubble covered cheek. His eyes slowly opened and he smiled.

“Good morning.” He said and I moved closer to him. I placed a kiss on his chin and then his lips. David pulled his arms closer, pulling me into him and returning my kisses. His arms moved as his hands started to explore my body. I broke from our kiss and smiled. I started to move and he pulled me back in.

“Nooooo! You have like fifteen minutes before we have to be up.” David said kissing my shoulder.

“David it’s enough time to shower.” I said and his arms moved. I got up and noticed him getting out of bed. “You’re following me to the shower aren’t you?” I asked.

“I thought that was a invite.” David said getting closer to me and trying to take my shirt off.

“You’re terrible.” I laughed as his lips crashed into mine and his hands were all over me. He let me up for air and I gasped as his lips trailed down. “You’re making this difficult.” I breathed out as I held onto his shirt. He pulled away and looked at me.

“You don’t want this!?” He said motioning to his body.

“Of course I do, but I also want to shower.” I said and laughed.

“We could kill two birds with one stone!” David said with a smirk.

“I want to be fresh for work. Tonight when we get home.” I pat his chest and he smiled at me. “What?” I asked.

“I love that you refer to this as home.” David said.

“Oh, I guess I have twice now.” I said before walking to the bathroom. David followed and stood in the door way as I turned the shower on.

“So are you ready for today?” David asked.

“Why? what’s happening today?” I asked worried some weird culture thing was supposed to happen today.

“For everyone to know, that you know now.” David said.

“Oh that’s what you meant. Well I guess so.” I said as I started to undress. I stood there and checked the water temperature. I felt David’s hand on my back and then his lips on my shoulder. “You aren’t one to give up.” I said getting into the shower.

“Does this mean I’m invited?” David asked hopefully.

“No!” I laughed.

“Awwwww!” David said in disappointment and walked out. I let the water relax me. I took a few breaths and prepared myself for anything that could happen next. I reminded myself that this job was perfect so far. I was enjoying it. It could lead me places. This relationship with David was turning into one of the best starts to a relationship I had ever had. So what if he was a mythical beast that wasn’t supposed to exist in real life. I started to wash my hair and realized how insane that would sound saying out loud. Was I really going to move forward with this? I could never gonna my to my normal life. I stood there a moment. You know what? I deserve to be happy. I deserve to get to where I want to go. F*ck it! I’m all in. I said to myself. As I shut the water off and got out. I wrapped a towel around my body and David reappeared dressed. He wore a plum colored shirt, a black tie, and black slacks. I whistled as he stood in the door way.

“You look almost too good to go to work.” I said walking to him.

“The offer has passed! Sorry.” He said turning away and looking back with a smirk.

“You tease!” I said turning to the mirror and trying my hair. After I finish I walked into the room still in my towel. I placed the second outfit I brought as a back up in case I wasn’t feeling the other one last minute down. David sat in the chair and tied his shoes as I quickly got dressed. I button my blouse and he walked over. He gently kissed my lips.

“Almost time for breakfast.” He said.

“I need to bring more clothes if I’m going to stay here again.” I said.

“Should just bring all your stuff here.” David said and I looked at him.

“Now you’re asking me to move in with you? Don’t you think that’s a little soon?” I asked.

“No?” He said in a confused tone.

“Is this a culture thing or do you really believe it’s not too soon?” I asked.

“Well when we find our mates. We rarely wait long to mark and be together forever.” David said and I gulped at that word. Forever.

“So it’s normal here?” I asked and David nodded.

“Two days is all it took for Will and Audra. George and Harmony were a little longer because dad wanted him to wait and mark her at the Luna ceremony.” David said.

“Luna ceremony?” I asked.

“Well, like I said George is the Alpha. His wife is the Luna. She runs her things like he has his job.” David said.

“Gosh, I bet you’ll explain it to me better later.” I said not really following. “Do you have a special title?” I asked and he nodded.

“I’m the Omega of Ironridge.” David said and I stared. “It’s a low rank, but I’m mostly third in command. I don’t have too hectic of a job, but I have to go to a lot of meetings. Will has the harder job as Beta.” David said and I was growing more confused.

“Ok, tell me more over breakfast.” I said grabbing his hand before we headed down.
