*David’s Perspective.*
*HAHAHAHA!” William’s laughter rang through his front living room. I stood there with my arms crossed listening to him practically die over my misfortune. “Audra! AUDRA!” William yelled.
“Shhhh! Come on Will!” I said getting angry.
“What? I’m washing dishes.” She said looking between us.
“David was rejected by the human girl!” William burst back into laughter. Audra started to laugh soon after looking at me.
“I wasn’t rejected!” I yelled.
“Stop David, you’re pouting.” William said.
“I’m not pouting!” I snapped back.
“He is! Oh goddess David!” Audra laughed.
“Tell her David!” William said.
“I went in for the kiss after we had a wonderful night and she suddenly looked terrified and leaned away from me!” I said annoyed and they both burst out laughing. “It’s not funny!!!” I said walking to the door.
“No stay! We’ll be nice.” William said.
“I’m sorry David, it’s just funny to see you so upset.” Audra smiled.
“No I’m going to go for a run. Clear my head.” I said as I opened the door walking out. The door opened and William came out.
“Don’t you go stalking outside her house!” He yelled.
“I’m not a freak Will!” I yelled back walking away.
*Ryan’s perspective.*
“Stop! I’m so disappointed in you.” Tonya’s voice alone dripped with it.
“I’m disappointed in me! I wanted to, but then I thought about Matt. I panicked!” I said and heard Tonya sighed.
“Why would you think of him?” Tonya asked.
“David asked about Arizona. My mom said Matt still cared and asked me to come home. I’ve been drinking! Matt used to really take care of me when I drank!” I said and there was silence.
“Sleep it off. Call me tomorrow.” Tonya said and hung up. I got upset with her. I walked to the stairs and I stopped. I saw the pad by the door. I walked over looking at the door code and David’s number. I’m going to hate myself tomorrow for this. I lifted my phone and started a text message.
“Sorry about earlier, with me drinking I felt like I wasn’t thinking clearly. Thank you for a lovely evening!” I typed and read it again. I hit send and went off up the stairs. Boxes now riddled the house from the move. I got to my room and got out some pajamas. I went to the bathroom and started a bath. I started putting my hair up and then quickly I started to undress. I slowly slipped into the bath and started to relax. The silence was nice after this long day. I suddenly heard a howl out in the distance. I sat up. There was silence again and I laid back. What was that? Coyote perhaps? My heart started to beat a little fast. I started to take deep breaths and went back to relaxing. I was becoming so relaxed, I started to drift off to sleep. I was almost asleep when I heard another howl. My eyes shot open and I got up. I grabbed the towel and wrapped myself up. I got out of the tub and walked to the window in my bed room looking out. I didn’t see anything, not that I expected to. I walked back into the bathroom and toweled off. I emptied the tub and grabbed my clothes. I walked back into my bedroom and got changed. I sat in the bed and turned on my tv. I grabbed my lotion and started putting lotion on my legs as I watched a little tv. I paused and looked out the window. It oddly felt suddenly like someone was watching me. I got up and closed the blinds. I felt like I was just being paranoid. I curled up in the blanket and watched tv until I drifted off to sleep.
I got to work early the next day.
“Ryan! How are you?” Angela asked super cheery.
“I’m just a little tired. I thought I heard a howl outside last night. I wasn’t sure, I was half awake.” I said she she smiled awkwardly.
“Let’s grab some coffee before we start!” She said and I nodded. We walked to the lunch room and we walked up to the coffee pots. A woman was putting the canisters out.
“What luck you have! Just brewed this fresh.” The woman said.
“Thank you!” I said and she smiled before leaving. I walked up and grabbed a paper cup.
“How was your drink with the boss?” Angela said tauntingly.
“I drank a little too fast. He brought me home. We said out good byes. He’s a good friend.” I smiled.
“Sounds… fun.” Angela said smiling. She walked over and grabbed her coffee next.
“I know, my best friend was so disappointed in me that she isn’t replying to my messages.” I said and Angela looked at me.
“Oh I didn’t mean to insinuate anything!” Angela said.
“It’s ok.” I said and we started walking back in silence. We got to the cubicles and we rounded into my cubicle. We both stopped looking at a small arrangement of flowers.
“Well maybe I should insinuate.” Angela said lowly. I walked over and took the card off and looked at it.
“Sorry if I made you uncomfortable. Call me. -David.” It read and I smiled putting the card in my pocket.
“This was nice of David.” I said and turned to Angela.
“I think he likes you.” Angela said as we sat down.
“I keep hearing that.” I said starting my computer.
“You don’t think it’s true?” Angela asked.
“I just got out of a relationship.” I said and Angela nodded
“That guys loss.” Angela said grabbing some paper we had to work through. I smiled to her words.
