*David’s perspective.* “I’m telling you, this is going to be easier then I thought!” I said and William stared at me. “You had one meal. I doubt it’s going to be that easy.” William said swirling his drink in his hand. The ice clanked against the sides. “She wore my coat! I know she was aroused by my androstenol!” I said puffing my chest out. William stared at me. “What the f*ck does that mean?” He said taking a sip. “It’s my manly sweat… produces a smell that is supposed to arouse females?” I said and he stared at me. “So she’s aroused by your scent?” William scoffed. “Yes! In no time, I will mark her and your office will belong to me!” I puffed my chest back out. “You sound like a idiot.” William said putting his drink down. “Now are we going to watch this game or what? My brandy is already half low and I haven’t yelled at a coach for making a stupid play.” William said grabbing the remote. “Fine.” I said plopping into the chair and turning my attention to the tv. *Ryan’s perspective.* “I’m telling you Tonya, he was freaking weird!” I said and Tonya laughed. “It sounds like he likes you or something.” Tonya said. “By being low key weird?” I said and I heard Tonya sigh. “Don’t say hipster words! You sound low key stupid for a twenty six year old!” Tonya snipped at me. “Fine, but I’m being serious. He asked me super personal questions like we were on a date. I actually told him I was only with Matt at the end for his pay check! I must seem so shallow.” I said feeling the embarrassment seep from every pore on my body. “This reminds me, Matt stopped by.” Tonya said and I felt my body freeze in place. “For?” I mustered up the strength to ask. “He forgot something. I let him grab it and he asked how you were. I told him you were moving for a job.” Tonya said. “That’s why my mother called!” I yelled out. “My ear! Ryan!” She said angry. “I’m sorry. My mom called today and now I know why.” I said. “Are you going to talk to her?” Tonya asked. “Well I have to now. Matt that little jerk!” I scolded his name. “He did seem surprised you would just up and move.” Tonya said. “He wanted to move back home. He thought with me losing my job, that I would agree. When I didn’t, he told me he would leave himself. I said goodbye.” I said. “Good riddance! You never seemed very happy with him.” Tonya said. “I was once.” I said. “Ryan, it always starts out happy. You guys were together for how long?” Tonya asked. “Five years.” I said. “Of course! College, fun, party.” She said and I laughed. “Yes. We were fun back then. He knew it was my dream to move to a big city and be successful.” I said thinking back to our college days. Our homes were not far from the college. I was sick of where we were. I wanted to get out and explore. Something about Seattle just drew me in. “Listen, forget about him and focus on this rich hunk of man meat that wants you.” Tonya said. “Tonya! What is wrong with you?! He was being polite! He’s my boss now.” I said and she gasped. “Sexy!” She said with a slight laugh. “Be serious! I think movers are going to be there tomorrow.” I said. “I’ll watch them. Make sure they don’t damage or steal anything.” Tonya said and I laughed. “I’ll come visit so we can still go to Ed’s.” I said. “You will! I can’t go there alone.” Tonya said. I heard my phone beep and looked at it. “My mom is calling.” I said. “Call me tomorrow. Or I’ll call you, what ever.” Tonya said and then laughed. “You’re hilarious.” I said unamused. “Bye!” She said quickly and hung up. I quickly called my mom back. “Ryan darling! There you are!” She said with her fake pleasantries. “Hi mom.” I said and waited. “Well the news is out! You and Matt.” She said with disappointment. “Yes. We ended things.” I said calmly. “I know he called.” She said unhappily. “I figured as much.” I said “He said you ended it. Not my Ryan! She was ready to settle down and have a family!” She said and I shook my head. “Since when?” I asked. “Since you were a little girl and had that baby doll you carried around.” She said and I tried to contain myself. “Because when I was six or seven and I had a baby doll. It automatically makes me want a family? Mom we have been over this!” I said upset. “It means you were wanting a family since a baby darling!” She said and I sighed. “Get Rachel to start a family!” I said angry. My sister was as equally fed up with my mom hounding her about grandchildren as I was. “I know! Freeze your eggs!” My mom said. “Stop. Please stop. Mom I don’t have time for this right now.” I said and she huffed. “That’s right. Matt said you’re moving. Again.” My mom said and I shook my head. “I knew he told you.” I said. “Of course. He still cares about you Ryan.” My mom said. “I had a feeling he didn’t really forget anything. Mom I think we’ve grown apart and I’m starting a new, great opportunity.” I said. “Maybe just come home for a week. Matt is on his way home and he just wants to talk.” My mom said. “I can’t. I start tomorrow.” I said and my mom sighed. “Why are you being difficult Ryan?” My mom said. “I’ll come home when I have the time to come home. I start this job tomorrow and it pays amazingly well.” I said and there was silence. “Fine. I’ll call tomorrow.” My mom said and I grimaced. “Good night mom.” I said hanging up the phone. My phone buzzed a moment later. “Just letting you know my phone is turning off for the rest of the night.” My mom’s text read and I shook my phone in anger. I got up and headed towards bed.
