The Hollow of Self-Condemnation Though the executors beat sincere confessions out of me and Aleksey, the fact that nearly unknown people — a photographer and an archeologist, had somehow plotted terroristic activities together, did not seem to be true. The investigation needed a more important bird, and then they managed to arrest Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov, who had come from the Maidan, and anti-fascist Aleksandr Kolchenko. Frankly speaking, I was ready to sign anything only to be left alone. Sleepless nights, lack of food, tortures were destroying my will to live.
