I waited. I f*****g waited patiently for hours outside the ward. I tried to ask the nurses that came and went inside but no one wanted to tell me anything. I did not want to raise hell or the suspicions would increase and threatening the staff was way out of the league. I didn't want to even risk Ryan's job.
So I waited. It was more than six hours that I sat there lost in thoughts after that phone call with Rafe.
I prayed for her health and whatever she was going through. I had to portray myself as if I was just another normal man waiting outside, worried for my girlfriend. I had absolutely no idea what was going on inside. Surely they won't be playing basketball and Ryan was her Uncle, he'd try his best and would not let her slip away. He believed in him that much.
