At the Council meeting, George wore a smug smile. "If there are no objections, then we'll proceed with the Alpha election." For years, George had been held back by Arthur. But with Arthur now captured by the rival pack, George was the strongest in the pack, and nothing stood in his way. One elder voiced opposition. "The election isn't scheduled to begin for another two months, and Arthur may not even be dead. Shouldn't we wait a little longer?" "Yes," another elder agreed.
