Chapter 5 Tessa's POV I woke up to sunlight cutting through the curtains and the smell of coffee drifting in from somewhere down the hall. For a moment I just lay there, the sheets were soft. The bed was warm. I reached for Connor without thinking. His side was empty, Cold. I sat up and listened. The apartment was quiet except for a low voice coming from the kitchen. I grabbed his shirt off the floor, pulled it over my head, and followed the sound barefoot. He was standing with his back to me, the phone pressed to his ear.
