Chapter 2- I told you I hate pain the most!

"Hmm." Zedd hummed as he looks at the unfamiliar person looking back at him in the mirror.

'Sure enough, he'd transmigrated to another world.' Zedd thought as he examined the person reflected in the mirror.

Contrary to Zedd's expectation, the body that he's residing in right now isn't by no means attractive. Like how the author described it in their transmigration novels.

This Zedd fellow is tall, at least he's taller than Vern in his last life, his skin has a natural sun-kissed complexion. Zedd feels his muscles, and fortunately, this body isn't just skin and bones. This fellow has prominent muscles.

Zedd glided his fingers in this body's chest and this fellow also had some kind of chest muscles. Wait a minute! Does this guy also have abs?

Zedd immediately lifted his exquisite shirt to see his tummy. And sure enough, he saw some outlines of what seemed like abs.

Holy cow! This guy is ripped! Zedd mused as he flexes his abdominal muscles.

"I need to stop, I'm acting like a pervert." After examining the body, Zedd finally snaps out of his musings and coughs to hide his embarrassment.

To be clear, this isn't his first time seeing some muscles. In his last life, although he looks slender but when you lifted his shirt you will see the muscles that he's been hiding.

Zedd was just delighted to know that his body is not like a twig. Because in the novels that he'd read before, the body that the main character had been occupied are all skin and bones.

But wait! He also transmigrated, does that mean he's the main character in some kind of book?

Eyy! But being the main character is troublesome. The main character is so busy to the point of having to resolve even the smallest issue. He doesn't want that.

'I shouldn't assume, what if I'm a cannon fodder? Look at this person's features. He doesn't look like the main character at all!'

Zedd nodded at his conjecture, that's right, I'm cannon fodder and I should just live my life as cannon fodder!

To be honest, Vern was just making his own assumption. Because it's more convenient for him to assume that he really did transmigrate in some kind of novel.

Since this body suffered from flu, the Duke, which is this body's father, made him rest for a few days. This works in Zedd's favor because if ever he did go out in his current situation, he might make a fool out of himself.

First things first, he needs to know something about this world. To not make it seemed like he's some kind of ignorant guy who came from a secluded province that goes to the capital for the first time.

Although he's very reluctant to do so because he's so lazy. He just wants to bury his head in that soft pillow and gets some rest as the Duke said.

Zedd examined the whole bedroom, this person appears to like reading. Because wherever Zedd sets his gaze all he can see is a bookshelf full of books.

He's surprised to see someone diligently collecting, or possibly, reading all these books.

He gets some kind of history book on the bookshelf and tried to read it. The letters are some kind of unknown likes, yet he can read it just fine.

Maybe because this body knows how to read this, and so Vern doesn't have any issue reading it too.

Thank goodness, because Vern doesn't have the patience to learn all the alphabet in this world too. In general, he doesn't have any patience when it comes to studying.

Zedd started to read the books in his hand. And according to this book, the place that he's currently in is called Reign Empire.

In the Reign Empire, there's a so-called Noble Class. And the Noble Class was divided into two parties.

The Main Nobles Class, which consist of 10 Noble Family that accompany the Royals when the war broke out. They're also the original Nobles when the Empire was still a Kingdom.

And the other party is The New Nobles, which also consist of 10 Noble Families. But they're not of Noble Blood. They are formerly a soldier, knights, alchemist or magicians that helped the Empire in times of war.

Strictly speaking, they are the people who contributed a lot and it is also a sign of their loyalty and love to the Empire, that is why the Emperor rewarded them by appointing them as New Nobles.

The Hanes family is part of the Main Nobles, they've been noble when Reign Empire was still a kingdom. Gregory Hanes is a Duke and also the most trusted aide of the current Emperor.

There are four children in the Hanes household, Zedd being the oldest. But as mentioned before, he's an illegitimate child.

He has a commoner's blood running on his veins, that is the reason why, even though he's part of the Main Nobles, no one takes him seriously.

The second son, which is the Heir to the duchy, is called Zess Hanes. Zess is a year younger than Zedd. But he solidified his status as the heir of the Hanes Duchy.

The third son, Zeyn Hanes, is 4 years younger than Zedd. And the youngest is Zachary Hanes. Even though Zedd is an illegitimate child, the Hanes family treated him like the other legitimate children.

They are very proud of Zedd's achievements, the original Zedd is an honor student in the Fern Nobility Academy. Not just an honor student but the Top Student in the whole Academy.

But now that Vern is the one who is residing in this body, the reputation that the original Zedd might just vanish into thin air.

After reading the book, Zedd finally had some basic knowledge regarding the country he's living in right now.

Note, this is just the basics, but overall he is still ignorant. "I've read enough, and now I'm hungry," Zedd said as he lay down on his soft bed while rubbing his tummy. And he can't help but smile like a fool whenever he feels the outline of his abdominal muscles.

"Usually in the transmigration novel, you get to have the memories of the original body. But I've been occupying this body for 3 days now, and there's still no memories coming to me." Zedd mumbled as he tried to remember the contents of the other novel that he'd read before.

"Do I have to do something to get the memories?" Zedd put his hand in his chin while thinking aloud.

"Should I bump my head on the wall? No, that sounds painful. I hate pain." Zedd shakes his head as he dismissed his earlier assumption.

"Maybe I will get it in a form of dreams? Yeah, that must be it." Zedd sits up, but a sudden wave of dizziness struck him followed by intense pain in his head.

"Hold up! You're going to give the memories now?! I just said I hate pain!" Zedd said as he groaned, he put both of his hands in his head to try and lessen the pain but to no avail.

Various images burst in his brain together with the pain, but since Zedd has a low pain tolerance, he lost consciousness before he reached the end of the memories.
