I had Tanner lead the others to a room while I went up to check on Jasper. I heard their laughter from down the hall, and I couldn’t help the smile that spread across my face. Jasper’s laugh could always brighten my mood, no matter the day I had, had. He was and always will be my sunshine in the darkness. I didn’t know it then, but the day that woman placed him in my arms, that little boy saved my life. He and Tanner both had. They became my anchor. Both of them have become my family.
