SKYLAR POV. A slight shaking stirs me awake as the car travels down the dirt road. Sitting on a lap with arms, larger than I'm used to, holding me tight against his bare chest, but I knew, even without having to smell him, that it was Devon. His one arm is holding me around my back, curling around my waist with his hand protectively covering my baby bump and the other cradling my head to his chest. I can still smell the fresh blood on his body, which alarmed me because it meant that his shoulder wound is still open, but the beating of his heart under my ear that is pressed to his chest and the sparks of his touch, puts me at ease and calms me down. Through the grogginess of my mind I slowly recall the events that took place before we got in the car and started our journey back home. Dev
