Russ walked into Jake’s room to find him sitting on the edge of the bed, looking like death warmed over, but alive—which was all that counted in his book. He was also dressed, which surprised Russ. “You’re late,” Jake grumbled. “Yeah, well deal,” Russ replied defensively.
