Future thoughts

Austin POV

Waking up I found out my mate to be gone. I wasn't planning to stay around her the whole night. However now I am the one waking up to an empty bed instead. Still I feel so great. Feeling her left over aura on the bed, even though there is still so much to deal with I feel so rested and relaxed. Thinking about her makes my bulge react. With a slow grunt I roll out of bed, suppressing certain desires. 

Downstairs Lena and Olivia are laughing childishly over their breakfast. Its so lovely to see her clicking well with Olivia. I can already imagine how she would be with our pups. Seeing this scene I notice how I have been missing out on this future perspective. Black haired Lena double gangers running around, I wouldn't mind. When she sees me she immediately looks shyly away. 

"Hey mate do you want some toast?" Conan is leaning on the kitchen isle turning his head towards me. 

"Yes, please." I lean on the isle now as well looking at my mate. 

"haha whats with the Australian accent, all the 'dude' and 'mate'." My mate giggles. I just want to plant my lips on her. Seeing her smile like this, especially now that she is smiling towards someone else. Wanting to claim her, showing the room who she belongs to. 

"This is what I have to deal with everyday. Lena can't you save me and pick me up from school?" Olivia gives Lena the biggest puppy eyes. 

"Of course Hun~" Did she just try to use an Australian accent? It sounded more like a cute Tennessee accent. It makes me laugh out loud. 

"Noooo not you too" While Olivia and my mate giggle with each other, Conan passes me a toast that just jumped out of the toaster. 

 *I really like her, if you decide to reject her I won't mind taking her* Taking a bite I almost spit out the toast to what Conan just thought. 

*NEVER* I stared at him. 

*Or she might reject you instead. It was awfully quiet last night for two people from the opposite gender locked in a room.*

* I learned from you. Being a gentleman and all. Or were you just incompetent?*  Touch down!

*touche, only one way to find out..*  The mischievous grin Conan gives me, makes me worried. What is he up to now...

"So Lena, how did 'he' sleep last night?" WHAT THE HECK DOES HE THINK?!?! he is basically implying how it is to sleep with me! How I am in bed! 

Jumping on him, with a grin I lock Conan's head in an arm lock. *YOU LITTLE ..* Before I realize it he punches his elbow into my side, automatically I release my hold on him.Conan runs around the kitchen isle hiding behind my mate and Olivia. 

"Whooo whooo boys, hold your horses." Lifting her palms in the air, she signs for a halt on our wrestling.  "He slept like a bear in his winter sleep" She gives me a wink. 

"I really like this morning atmosphere, it has been a while. Lena you are more than welcome to stay here as long as you want. " Conan grins. Is he trying to make a competition out of this? At least the topic changed a little. 

Olivia quickly agreed with her dad. "Yes, please stay long." 

"Don't worry sweetie, I won't be going anywhere till the festival ends."

"Thats coming up too fast!" Olivia pouts 

"Talking about the festival. Don't you have somewhere to be? Like your own home for example." Conan gives me a that mischievous grin again. 

* you little ***** * 

I can't hold my curses back. He just ruined my happy morning glory. Noah... 

*Thanks for ruining my early morning. How am I supposed to drop this on him*

*Its not that early anymore. Butttt it would be best to get over with it and rip the bandage off at once. He will only blow up more if you keep it a secret longer. Also its a natural thing, we can not ignore who we are destined to be with.* Gilroy feels more relaxed hearing Conan does agree that Lena and I are destined to be together. 

"Yeah I should probably go home and take care of some stuff. I have been away for too long"

Leaning over the isle towards my mate. I can see her blushing again. "However, I might have time in the evening. Would this lovely lady let me take her somewhere tonight?"  Gilroy is being impatient  'Yes yes yes yes, say yes!'

A faint "Sure" makes Gilroy go crazy inside of me. As if we just won the world cup. Running like a lunatic around inside of me. Its hard to hide my joy. "Great, then I will see you all soon"

"Heey" Softly stroking Noah's arm trying to wake him up. Kicking away a beer can on the floor I sit on the coffee table in front of the sofa. Pressing the tv on mute. He must have fallen asleep while watching something. 

"Hey handsome" he opens his eyes slowly. "Where have you been?" Raising up on his arms to stretch he looks at the window. Sunshine shining into the house. 

"There was an accident on my way back."

"Yeah, I know." 

Furrowing my brows.Tilting my head sideways. "You know?"

"Yeah, Gale ran through our garden. I stopped him and asked what was going on." 

For god sake Gale. 

"It must have been a big thing that you are returning only now."

"No not really, I was exhausted from driving so I just crashed at Conan's." Resting my elbow on my knees. Leaning forward fumbling with my hands. I just gave a really bad excuse as I could have just shifted in the night and ran over in a blink. 

"I can see something is bothering you." Noah has a super stern serious face expression, knowing something is gonna be dropped upon him. 

"Gilroy reacted to her. So it made me confused and not sure how to deal with it." screw my life... a month ago I was sure I was gonna stay with Noah for the rest of my life. Running the pack together and now I am all swept away by some girl I barely know. But I feel so connected to her already as if I have known her for ages. "ugh I just don't know"

"Reacted? How? " I could hear him gulp. 

"Yeah so uhh. no way to turn around this but uhm. She is my mate"

Noah gave me a death stare.

"You are not even saying 'my wolf thinks she is my mate'. NO you are already claiming her as YOUR mate. Am I not your mate?"

"Its a natural thing. I can not chose who I am fated to bond with, and you know that." Still burrowing my elbows in my knees I point both my hands to Noah.

Noah grabs my hands in his. "But we bonded as well. I was here first, besides you."

"I know, and I know I sound like a prick, I appreciate and would never want to forget the time we spend. But we will have to find some solution as I am feeling a really strong connection with her. I can't stop myself" Now I am just shoving it to him. This is so not fair to Noah and I do realise that. 

"If I was still a woman and we had pups than you wouldn't be like this. Now I am just a loose end. Also what are you thinking? She is a HUMAN. What if she gets to know about what we are and freaks out. Telling the world about us. Do you know how dangerous that is? You don't know her. Its only attraction..." He takes a deep breath. 

"Also she won't be able to give you a family either. The chances of her surviving birth are so low. Especially as you have to stay around this town. Conan will not be able to save her during labor. Please think about us, our pack and her future. It will only be dangerous for all of us and her life to act on these feelings of your wolf. I am sure Gilroy wouldn't want to hurt her or kill her." 

I never had thought so far. Gilroy even is taken aback. Noah does have a point. Losing my fated mate would kill me. Especially with how I and my body reacted when I saw Lena unconscious in her car. 

"Just know it is not because you were lacking in any point or what so ever. Her touch just triggers me, in a way I have never felt before. You also knew that our touch never was as strong as all those others who find their mate in the pack. I just never realised or thought that someone else would be out there that would still give me that extreme reaction. Aren't you eager to find someone like that? I need time to think, I need some air." With that I walk towards the back door to take a fresh breath.
