The morning

911 Words
Stretching my cold limbs I remember where I am. Opening one eye after the other I realise that the blanket was stuck from the sides, as every hotel does. Thats why I was unsuccessful to cover myself during the night. Finally untucking the blanket I wrap it around me while grabbing some clean clothes. Making my way to the shower. Heating up my stiff body under the hot stream of water, I quickly brush my teeth and put on a pair of jeans and a black oversized shirt that I tuck into my jeans. Many have told me through the years that as I wear a lot of black clothes, I must be a dark person or they start to ask if something is wrong. At first I wanted to change, be this bright bubbly person that everyone loves and wants to be around with. However I feel most comfortable wearing just a plain black shirt. Feeling beautiful and secure in black, its one of the reasons I first fell for my boyfriend Jess. He told me I look great in black and he loves wearing it as well. He never told me to wear something brighter nor that I should cheer up for no reason. Maybe it also came with confidence. At a certain point in life, I have been screwed over too much, that I stoped to care. After packing my bag again, I get a drink from the vending machine with a snicker to lessen my hunger. This morning an elder women was sitting behind the desk. Thankfully, I did not want to deal again with that creepy dude. I am so glad he wasn't to persistent last night. I put the keys on the railing. "Good morning. I am checking out. But do you maybe have any brochures on places to visit?". The woman looks kind enough not to verbally abuse me. Standing up from her seat she takes the keys. "Good morning darling." Her voice was filled with warmth and tenderness. "You must be new in the area. Unfortunately you just missed our towns festival that we hold every summer. But if you drive for another day or two, you will reach a town which will have a local festival going on soon. Its definitely worth visiting as its outside of the tourist season but still a big thing for the locals. Also the location is just mesmerising. The town itself is surrounded by a beautiful pinewood forest and don't even get me started on the mountains and lakes." She leans forward, over the desk. " I normally go there every year with my husband, but he isn't feeling well and up for the trip." Her eyes spark of excitement, probably memorising past memories. "Thats to bad, we will miss you Gabs" a young cheerful but manly voice spoke from behind me. "Its always fun to see the youngsters fly into each others arms." Turning around to see the person, my eyes meet with a blue eyed blond man with well defined cheek bones. He looked a bit thin but he would not break by a small push. "But thanks for introducing this cupcake to the festival Gabs. I will definitely enjoy seeing her again." He meets my eyes with a bright smile. "youngsters? flying into arms? is it some sort of yearly reunion?" I looked at the women who apparently was named Gabs. This festival must be a big thing of some sorts. *haha* "you could see it as a reunion, in some way we are all very distant family" Is Gabs talking about the evolution theory? "Darling, if by any chance you decide to go into that direction. Could you take Conan with you? He was supposed to drive with us but as we can not go..... Also isn't it great to have some company?" Taking my eyes from Gabs, I look at the guy that now stands besides me. Apparently he is called Conan. "I would really appreciate that Cupcake. Otherwise I will have to hitchhike with some strangers." What does he think we are? "Arent we also strangers? You havent even introduced yourself to me." Narrowing my eyes. "Sorry for my bad manners, I am Conan. And to who belongs this sweet face and that hideous ride of yours outside?" "You do know how to make a great first impression. Why do you think that I will still give you a ride after such comments on my truck?" Conan's smile turns into him snickering as if he got me right where he wanted me to be. "Still? so you are giving me a ride. Great! As I have my stuff right here I am ready whenever you are. See you later Gabs!" Conan grabs his duffle bag from the ground which was laying next to the desk. With a swift turn he grabs my bag from my shoulder, he goes outside before I can even process and respond to what he just said. Giving a confused look to Gabs. Which she returned with a soft smile. I respond back with a smile as I just feel dumbfounded by the whole situation and still lacking of sleep. "I am in for some ride, aren't I?" "Yes you are." After saying my greetings, I as well make my way to the door and my car. Apparently we are going to a town with a festival where its normal to jump in each others arms?
