Destiny

Adam was flying over the blue sea. Sea was calm as anything. Adam, a soldier broken inside and all alone, traveling in the sea of nothingness, trying to find a way to save his loved ones. Adam was not sure that if he will ever be able to bring back his loved ones.

   Adam was still not able to believe that he has lost his family. He was traveling for 5 hours straight. Adam’s mind was full of thoughts; all the questions circulating in his mind were painful for him. He turned on the autopilot and came out of the cockpit. Adam was tired of thinking all these things. Adam was looking for some liquor to drink. Adam took champagne and started drinking it.

   He was trying to forget the memories of his wife. Her face was in front of his eyes. Adam came back to the cockpit with a champagne bottle. Soon he reached the land. Adam was trying to contact the nearest airport tower but he was not able to connect. He kept going. Adam was headed towards Paris. After some hour or so he reached Paris. He was flying low and the scene on the ground looked the same as back in the United States. Grounds were empty. Cars bumped into each other. Planes crashed. When Adam reached Paris, he saw a plane crashed into the Eiffel Tower. The tower was damaged a little and the plane was completely destroyed.

  He landed at the airport. There was only one runway that was clear. Adam came out of the airport and took a vehicle. He was driving down the city. It was night time in Paris. He looked at the cell phone inside the car. It was 0030 hours. He was looking for the police station. He finally found one and went inside. Adam went straight to the control room and looked at the screens in front. Cameras were out. He played it the time it all happened in America. He played five minutes before that and exactly five minutes later the camera stopped working. It happened all over the world in the same second. He was sure it was some alien attack.

    Now he was thinking if this can be undone, if the technology that did this, can undo it? If it is possible and it can be undone but how will he ever be able to undo it. The aliens are not here. If they would be here, the force which can wipe off all of the organisms of a planet in a split sec, how the hell is he going to make them undo it? They would erase him like nothing.

   Adam thought of going back to Washington. He wanted to find out why he was the only one left alive. He also wanted to know if the experiment that was in the process completed or not.  Was he turned into a superhuman?

   Adam came back to the airport. Adam went to the hangars. He was looking for some new aircraft. He found one ready for flight. It was standing just outside its hangar. Adam took it to the runway and took off in it. Adam was headed back to the United State.

  Loneliness was eating him. He was traveling above the empty land and hearing the cries of the dead. He turned on the autopilot and laid back to relax. His eyes were close.

   Soon he hears a voice from the back of the plane. It was calling his name. He goes to the back of the plane and the voice is still coming. He starts walking straight. It was dark in the back of the plane like a cave. He keeps walking in it. He starts sweating. The voice keeps getting slower and slower. He starts running in the dark. He turns his neck to look back at the cockpit and found no light there. He was trapped inside the darkness. Suddenly the voice starts to echo and get louder and louder. The voice gets very loud and his ears start to bleed. He closes his eyes and covers his ears. He sits down and keeps his hands on his ears. Soon the voice stops. He opens his eyes to see around him. He opens his eyes and sees a Child’s face covered in blood in front of him and the boy cries, ‘you were not able to save me.’ The boy instantly vanishes and Adam wakes up on his chair. Adam was trembling. He sees around and he was flying over the ocean and he was on the course.

   Adam reaches the Washington DC airport and sits in his military truck which he left at the airport. Adam soon reaches the facility where he was experimented on. He goes to the lab and starts looking in the files. He was not able to understand anything through files. He remembers the meeting where a general told him that when the experiment will be completed, he will be able to punch through walls.

    Adam goes near a wall and to try to find out if the experiment was successful or not he punches the wall. He punched with all his might. Soon he regretted the decision. His hand didn’t go through the wall and now it was hurting.

   The experiment was not a success and he came to know it the hard way. He then thinks that it might be the pod that saved his life. It was clear that he was not any superhuman. The pod saves him from whatever it was that cleaned the earth from its organisms. Only the trees were left and he was saying to himself, ‘why they left the trees’.

   Adam was thinking these thoughts when he heard some noise outside. The sound was like the sound of the engine of some aircraft. Adam rushed towards outside. And saw a big alien ship descending from the sky. The ship was humongous. It was very high in the sky and it was slowly descending. The noise was increasing as the ship was coming down.

   Adam started running towards the ship. He had his g*n in his hand. Adam went near a rock and hid behind it. The ship was huge. He was hiding so they don’t see him. He was scared because he knew they can erase him easily.

   The door of the ship slowly opened and he saw two aliens standing inside the ship. They looked like humans. They had two legs and as the door was opening it was slowly revealing them.
