Raw Pain

Chapter 4.0

I pressed my hands on my stomach, it was hurting but wasn't bleeding. There was only a purple bruise on it. My eyes were still dark red, blood oozing out of it like a water fountain. My nose was reddish with little faint of blood running down.

I gulped down my blood. b****y mouth always spitting out blood. My heart was pounding fast, trying to produce blood faster than I was losing it.

"We need to talk" I said in a raspy voice. My head still throbbed the dream flashed through my eyes every second. They nodded their heads waiting for me to say something. "I'm dying" they froze for a sec digesting my words before shedding tears and shaking their heads in disbelief.

"I'm just joking around" I laughed out loud ignoring the pain that kept hitting me in waves. Their faces mirrored intense anger. I couldn't help myself, they were looking so cute right now

"It's not funny Jane" Jess seethed rubbing her face with her hands "You're right" I stopped laughing "It's hilarious!" I giggled as Kate groaned. "Now tell us what's the meaning of all this?" Kate said her eyes on mine.

I looked away watching my blood drop to the floor. "It started 3 month ago. After the incident that lead to my demise for 3 hours"I whispered softly my tone as serious as I could make it " I kept telling the therapist that I fell into a portal that it scrambled everything about me before..... "

I winced. My head began to throb even more but I gritted my teeth and continued "before I met a lady. She was older with a warm smile gracing her lips. She gave me a pill and made me take it after which she waved bye telling me that she'll be back for me. Until she comes back I should fulfil my purpose."

I looked up at their faces, it was blank I couldn't decipher any emotion in their faces. "Ever since I've been getting weird dreams at night but it wasn't too disturbing. Until 3 days ago"I gulped remembering the fruits

"I felt raw pain , I was ate alive and it scared me out of my wits. I had no idea what it meant up till now but after that dream. The next day I saw where the robbers were."I felt their stares on me, fighting with their inner self just to trust I'm saying the truth.

"It was while I was at work. I dozed off in Jess hands, I woke up in their hideout..... Not exactly but it's not something I can explain. I got shot in the dream actually but when I woke up, I was fine aside from my eyes..... And other places"I gave them a bashful smile before I continued.

"But today....." I shook my head rubbing my temple. "I believe I saw the future and of course I got stabbed. 29 freaking times! But this is all I have to show for it"I rose my top up a little so they could see the bruise on my rib.

"What did you see" Jess probed The dream flashed through my eyes faster and I couldn't contain my tears anymore. I looked Kate straight in the eyes with a sad smile on my lips "Kate died" Kate eyes grew in shock and Jess sprung up pacing the room her hands deeply pulling her hair.

"Tell me you're joking around Jane!" Jess lunged at me pinning me on the floor her eyes red and swollen. "I wish I was Jess, I wish I didn't see it but shouldn't you be happy I saw it? "I said softly my voice barely above a whisper.

She gritted her teeth pushing herself away from me "I'm sorry" I brought her closer hugging her as tight as I could "Don't be, we should be glad that now we know how to prevent Kate from dying"

" When? "Kate finally spoke up, she didn't look too affected at least not as Jessica. "3 days from today early in the morning." I replied.

She nodded her head " Tell me, was I promoted? "I laughed, she was asking such an irrational question during this serious conversation. "Yes. You were the second highest ranked officer" I replied with a smile

"Wow! Then I have no regret dying then"she puffed her chest then winked at me. We we're both laughing when Kate was tackled by Jess who held her down with so much force I never knew she had.

"Does this look like a play to you! How can you say such a thing" Jessica's tears fell on Kate's face but Kate didn't even flinch instead she rose a brow and smirked

"It does. You shouldn't be this worked up honey, I'm not really gonna die. Promise" she patted Jess in an awkward manner. I dragged Jess off Kate and cupped her face so she was looking at me.

"The reason I had that dream was so I can prevent it from happening. Kate isn't gonna die so take a breather. Alright?" Jess nodded her head resting her head on the crook of my neck.

"Good girl" I chuckled then layed her on my bed moment later after she fell asleep. I walked back to where Kate was and sat opposite her.

"Now let's really talk" I said in a straight serious tone.
