Once Noah got Andy to the hospital, the nurses started to whisper and gossip. Noah sat in a seat and waited for the doctor to come and say what was wrong, but then a man looking high like a kite walked in and started to yell at the nurses and ask where his daughter was, but the nurse pulled out her phone and called security and the police to get out of the building.
Man:Where is that brat of a daughter of mine tell me now, or you will not be happy with the outcome, because I swear that it will be the last of you nurses if you don't tell me now!
Nurses:sir, we can not tell you anything right now, but what we can tell you is that she came in unconscious and with several bruises and a cut in her shoulder. Please go sit down.
Man:tell me who the person is that brought her, so I can rip him from limb to limb, because she knows not to come to the hospital, so tell me now!
As Noah sat and watched the commotion going on, some security guards and police officers came into the emergency room and restrained the man to keep him from hurting others in the room, so Noah got up and went to the bathroom to find Andy hiding there quietly and reserved like the commotion was nothing new to her.
Noah:Andy, why are you here in the bathroom and not in the room? So the doctor can check you out and make sure the cut isn't still bleeding. Will you look at me?
Andy just stood there silent and didn't move an inch, so Noah squatted down in front of her and raised Andy's head only to find Andy crying and looking sad. Noah took his thumb and wiped away Andy's tier and looked at her straight in the eyes, but Andy stopped him and looked away from Noah.
Andy:Why did you take me to the hospital and not let me die? People would be happy if I was gone and didn't have to deal with me anymore. I guess my life is ending when I get home anyway.
Before Noah could even react, Andy pulled out a surgical knife and slit her wrist, so Noah grabbed the nearest towel and held pressure, yelling for help. A nurse came running in with a doctor.
Doctor:Why is she here and what happened? She should be in a room, not in the bathroom, so please explain to me what the hell happened here and get her back to her room and remove all sharp objects.
Noah was already ahead of him with that and explained what had happened. When they got Andy back in the room and on the bed, Noah was immediately kicked out so they could work on getting Andy to stop bleeding. Noah wanted to punch Andy's dad for making her feel like she deserved to die, so when he got to the waiting room he found a police officer and asked if he could talk to him.
Officer:Hey kid, what do you need because you have blood on you and what just happened because there was a lot of yelling and screaming just now.
Noah:the girl that he came in for just slit her wrist, and they are trying to keep Andy alive because of him. Andy feels that it will be better for her dead than alive, so Andy tries to kill herself.
Officer:What is your name, kid? Are you the one who brought Andy here, because the nurses said that you have been here since she arrived, so are you?
Noah: I'm the one who brought Andy here. Yes, and my name is Noah. You could say we're really not friends, more like the jerk who bullies her, so yeah.
The officer just stared at Noah and patted the seat next to him, so Noah walked over and sat down with his head back against the wall of the waiting room and thought if it was a good idea to tell him what he saw or not, because he didn't want anything to happen to Andy and her hate him more.
Officer: So Noah, why do you think bullying someone is OK because it's not, and with how many times that girl has been in and out of the foster system because of her dad, it's a miracle. Andy is even alive.
Noah:What do you mean by that? I know that her dad beat her, and she is well. I'm not going to say it anymore, but I wish that Andy could see that she has a life waiting for her out there. I mean, if she dies, who am I going to prank and make fun of? Because she lets me do it and doesn't say anything.
The officer just sat there and listened to Noah's rant about how he didn't want Andy to die, but when the ranking and made fun of things, Noah said his face turned grim for a minute.
Officer:so basically, she lets you do it and doesn't say anything to you. Have you ever asked yourself why Andy let you do it to her because it sounds like she doesn't give a f*****g s**t about what you do because she is used to being harassed and abused by people, so leave her alone because you know what she is going through, don't you?
Noah:Yeah, my mom has been trying for the past month to pay bills by herself. When I tell her I can get a job and help, she just says, "Jobs are for adults, not kids." I wish I could help my mom, but don't know how.
The Officer just looked at Noah with sympathy, but he knew that the Officer was used to sad stories like his, but his was just like any other kid.
Officer:You know Noah, you have a good shot at making things right with her, but first you have to figure out what has you all riled up about seeing Andy get hurt, but if you ever need to talk again, please call OK.
Noah:Yes sir, can I ask a question? You sound like you have had some experience with stuff like this. Did something similar happen to you?
With that, the officer walked away as Noah slowly sat back down on the seat and called his mom to tell her that he had taken a classmate to the hospital and asked if she would come knowing his mom would be coming, and he didn't feel like facing her right now, but of course, right on que his mom had to be coming through the doors.
Mom:Noah, why are you covered in blood? What happened? You look horrible and give me a hug because you look like you need one, so come here.
Noah gave his mom a hug and just felt like crying but didn't because, right at that moment, the doctor walked up to them, which made Noah go stiff and not very comfortable.
Doctor:Hello, I want to tell you that Andy will be fine, but she will need to stay here for a few days, but I need an adult to sign that we can treat her, but I take it as her dad will be no help.
The doctor pointed over at the man restrained in the police car and, before anyone could react, Noah's mom signed the paper giving the doctor's permission to do whatever is needed for Andy to get better. When Noah's mom was done, they were led back to Andy's room, and she was hooked up to a bunch of tubes.
