back in the hospital

Noah was sitting in his room looking at maps of places around the state when a knock came from the window, so Noah went over to see who it was, and it was Jaiden. So Noah opened the window for him and let him in.

Noah:Why are you here? Shouldn't you be at your house instead of mine because I'm doing something, so why are you here?

Noah kept looking at his maps and waited for Jaiden to answer him, but instead of answering him, Jaiden turned on the TV and started searching through different channels until he got to the news channel. So Noah looked up to see that they had found a body in a ditch somewhere, but just at that moment, Noah got a call on his phone, so he picked it up and what was said made him go white.

Doctor:Hello, is this Noah? I remember that you asked if Andy was ever back at the hospital to call you or, in other words, as you guys had called her freak, she was back, but I had to go because the ambulance just got there. If you could get here fast, that would be good.

Noah put his phone in his pocket and told Jaiden to come on, so they both left out the window and got in their cars and drove to the hospital. By the time they got there, the ambulance was leaving, so Noah parked the car and went inside.

Noah:Hey nurse, a girl was brought in here tonight and a doctor called me to come here. Can you tell me where she is, please?

The nurse got on the phone and asked for the doctor to come to the lobby to speak with Noah. When the nurse got off the phone, she told them to go sit down and the doctor would be out soon to see them, so Noah and Jaden went and sat down.

Jaiden: Do you think that she is okay because it would be horrible if she wasn't okay?

Noah was just there sitting in thought and not listening to anything Jaiden was saying to him. Then the doctor came rushing to them. When the doctor stopped, he was out of breath.

Doctor:Hello, I'm guessing that you are the friends of the girl that came in, so let me tell you what I know so far. Andy is in critical condition. It looks like she has been thrown into glass and then stabbed in the leg with a knife, but I can't be sure because we have to wait for her to wake up.

Noah was just listening to the doctor and was wanting to punch those people so badly, but he instead asked the doctor where Andy's room was, so the doctor led them both to Andy's room. Once they were there, the doctor left and let them in the room.

Jaiden: I'm going to get something to drink. Do you want anything or are you going to stay here because I want something to drink? Okay, I guess, since you aren't answering me, are you going to stay here? I'll get you some coffee.

After Jaiden left, Noah put his head down because Noah felt like he had let Andy down and wasn't able to keep his promise, but one thing he noticed was that she still had on the bracelet he had given to her before she left, but then someone touched his shoulder, and it was his mom. He didn't know why she was there.

Noah:mom why are you here? You should be at home getting some sleep because you have work tomorrow. If you are worried about me, I'm fine, but Andy, on the other hand, is not. I don't know what she has been through, but I'm not going to let her go back there because I made a promise, and I'm going to keep it.

Mom:I know that you won't. That's why I told the doctor that when she is better she is going to come and stay with us until she is better, but until then she is your responsibility, okay.

Noah stood up and hugged his mom for the first time in a long time. His mom knew that he would never say that he cared for this girl and Noah's mom didn't want her to go back there either.

Jaiden:Okay, enough of the emotional stuff, because you are going to make me cry if you guys continue with all of this stuff and I don't want to cry and here is the coffee I got you guys.

They all sat down in silence and waited for Andy to wake up, but after a while, they fell asleep. Then Andy started to wake up and looked around to find three people asleep in her room, but she didn't remember how she got there. Then Noah woke up to find Andy staring at them, so he slowly got up and walked over to the bed, but Andy flinched away.

Andy: Noah, why are you here? Why am I in the hospital? The last thing I remember is being stabbed in the leg with a knife, then being dropped in a ditch. They aren't here, are they?

Noah: No they aren't. It's just me, my mom, and Jaiden here, so don't worry, I will go get the doctor and be right back okay.

Noah went to get up from his crouched position, but Randy grabbed his hand and was holding on to it tight, so Noah didn't move. Instead, he hit the call button and told the nurse that Andy was awake.

Noah: don't worry about going back there. My mom told the doctor that she was going to stay at our house until you got better, so they won't be calling CPS again.

After Noah said that, Andy let out a sigh of relief and Noah relaxed somewhat, then there was a hand on his shoulder. When Noah looked up, it was his mom's hand on his shoulder.

Mom: Hi dear, I'm Noah's mom. You were hurt very badly, but don't be worried, you are safe now and in good hands.

Andy looked at the woman, then back to Noah, then over at a sleeping Jaiden, which was funny because you would think that all the talking would wake someone up, so all Andy could do is laugh and point at Jaiden, who was sucking his thumb in his sleep.

Andy: Does he always sleep with his thumb in his mouth or is he still a baby?

Noah: No, he always does that. I think it's because he has a toddler mindset, or he is still a baby.

Mom: You two are nice to the poor boy. Look at him. He looked like he hadn't gotten any sleep, so I would go get the doctor and I wouldn't let Jaiden see you both doing that.

Andy let go and apologized but there felt an emptiness in Noah's hand, but he got up and punched Jaiden in the arm, which woke him up real fast. Jaiden looked around real quickly, then saw that Andy was awake.

Jaiden:Hey freak you awake. You look horrible, unlike this guy who just threw on a shirt and jumped in his car to drive here. I mean he must have broken some laws with the way he was driving.

Andy was holding in a laugh, but the doctor came in just then to see two teen boys trying to make Andy laugh, but all the doctor could do was shake his head and clear his throat to get their attention.

Doctor:Well, I see you are all a wake, because last time I was here you guys were sound asleep, but it looks like you are wide a wake now but, Andy, you are looking better.

Andy: I feel better doctor. How is my leg?

Doctor: The good thing is that you will walk again, but you will have to go through a lot of therapy.
