CHAPTER 1 Juliet McCann stared at the spectacle unfolding before her sea green eyes. She wanted to turn around and run before they could spot her but all the strength seemed to have deserted her body. Her lower trembled as she tried to block out the moans filling the entire apartment. Finally John noticed her and he cussed loudly.   “Babe,” John, scrambled off Christian, Juliet’s twin brother, rushing to where she stood glued by the door, her eyes a little too wide for her face.   “Don’t,” Her voice quivered as she raised her index finger to John.   Her eyes darted to her twin brother, now sitting on the bed-her bed, with the duvet drawn over his lower abdomen. A look of guilt stretched over his sharp features but his guilt could not amount to the one John felt gnawing in the depths of his chest.   “How long?” she inquired in a small, shaky voice.   “Babe,”   “How long John?” She snapped, tears threatening to break out of the slit ends of her eyes.   “Three weeks,”   She staggered back in shock. Her boyfriend had been cheating on her with her brother for three weeks? How did she not see the signs then? She felt like somebody had spread gasoline over her heart, then set fire on it, the pain of it excruciating enough.  She took three deep breaths, before she focused her gaze on Chris.   “Dinner at seven. Dad says an old friend is visiting,” she stated and then turned around to walk but at the last second she changed her mind, facing the two men.   “On second thought, out of my house, both of you,” she ordered.   “Where should I go? You know Dad kicked me out,” Chris stated as he stepped off the bed, clutching the duvet over his naked body.   “I don’t give a f**k Chris. Just get the hell out of my house right now before I do something really terrible,” Her lips were thinned.   “Babe, I’m sorry. I-“   “Did not mean for that to happen? Too late John,”   “I know I should-“   “Get out now,”   She watched the two of the most important men in her life, quickly struggle into their clothes before they scrambled out of her apartment. Even after they left, she remained standing in that room, trying to absorb all that had just happened. Her three years boyfriend was actually…gay and she had been too naïve to notice. But that did not hurt as much as the fact that he had been cheating on her with her own blood brother. She found herself sinking on the floor, a stream of tears finally making their down her ruddy cheeks.   All this hurt too much and knowing she’d be sitting with Chris on the same table in less than six hours, was unbearable enough. Everything in the house including the very air smelt of John’s seductive cologne. The pictures on the wall, on top of her cupboard, in her drawers, all over the bedroom screamed of him. She could not stay in her house a second longer. She changed out of her orange maxi length dress into a pair of dark jeans and a rather fancy, white t-shirt before pulling a black hoodie over her upper body. Wearing her black shades she got on her Harley bike before speeding to Vicky’s apartment.   It was already two by the time she pulled the bike to a stop outside Vicky’s apartment. She pulled off the glasses, pushing her hands into the hoodie’s pockets.  Ringing the bell impatiently, she waited a few seconds before Vicky opened the door. Her smile fell the moment she noticed Juliet’s dejected facial expression.   “Are you okay?” she questioned.   “If just finding our your boyfriend had been screwing your brother behind your back for three weeks counts as being okay, then I’m definitely okay,” Juliet answered.   “Shoot sweetie! Come on in,” her facial expressions were now painted with pity, something Juliet hated. She always felt like every time someone gave her that look, they must have thought she was breakable.   She walked right in to the house, plopping on the soft brown couch. Vicky quietly sat down beside her, not sure how exactly she was supposed to comfort her best friend.   “Tell me something new, something I don’t know,” Juliet desperately needed her mind off John and Chris even just for a while.   “Are you sure?”   “Vicky,”   “Okay. Did you hear about Byron?”   “Your rich cousin Byron?” Juliet echoed.   “The one and only,” In truth, Juliet had only met the guy once and to say he was a shameless p*****t would be an understatement. He knew no boundaries but she guessed it came with the perks of coming from a multi-billionaire family and knowing you are the heir to that vast wealth.   “What did he do this time? Choke a girl during s*x?”   “I wish. Look at this,” she slid off her tablet to Juliet.   There was a picture of Byron shirtless, lying on a bed with his head resting on another shirtless guy’s chest. Underneath it was the hashtag manlove.   “Byron is gay?” Juliet gasped.   “That’s what everyone has been speculating the entire morning. His parents are in the middle of closing of a very important deal right now and well, their partner is not really an l***q+ friendly man. They were so afraid they are going to lose the deal that they actually showed up at my house just an hour ago,”   “What did they want?” Juliet questioned. She knew Vicky hated the Powers family because to her, they were just some extremely rich family who thought of themselves as better than everybody else.   “They want me to help them look for a perfect girl whom they’ll pay to be their son’s cover up wife,”   “That’s ridiculous. And are you going to help them?” Juliet questioned, laughing.   “They already deposited 300,000 dollars in my account,”   “They must be so desperate then,”   Then as though it had struck her, Vicky’s lips tilted into a grin.   “Have you ever thought some things happen for a reason?”   “No. Why?”   “Not to sound insensitive but you just found out your boyfriend has been screwing your twin brother on the same day this offer comes,”   “No way,” The color on Juliet’s face drained as he realized what Vicky was insinuating.   “Marry Byron,”
