"Rhea. Rhea." I heard soft whispers above me with a gentle push.  "Whaaat?" I mumbled half awake.  "You're going to be late for school." She replied.  " I don't want to go to school." I replied. " Rhea!" She scolded. "Okay mom." I forced myself to wake up from my peaceful sleep, well it was not that peaceful. My life has never been peaceful ever since my father died. It started when my mother got married to Mr Wilson one of the richest man in town. She did it because she was desperate for money and Mr Wilson only married her because she was extremely beautiful. But mostly because he wanted to make his ex wife jealous. It didn't work very well since she didn't seem to care and for that he started hating my mother. The ex I'm talking about is Annabelle's biological mother, Annabelle who happened to be my annoying stepsister. Worse her mother is educated and rich. She has both rich mother and father.  Mr Wilson I can also see he wants Annabelle's mother back of they are not dating already. Especially with her business booming as ever. My mother now is just a clothing that was once loved but the owner has lost all hearts for it. Now she would get beaten up almost every day. She would get yelled at, called names. It really hurts to hear the sound of your own mother crying. It really hurts knowing there's nothing you can do to help. Though my mother always said the only way I could help is by going to school, get in college and graduate. Though school wasn't any better since I was constantly bullied. I was going to one of the best schools in town, filled with only rich kids. I was constantly picked up on, because I was poor and wore worn out clothes. Even worse since Annabelle denied me as her sister. She would tell everyone my mother is just a servant and they felt pity for me by at least letting me study in the same school with her. Saying it's a mere coincidence that we share the same last name. I really just wanted out of this house. Just somewhere peaceful, where it's just me and my mom. Just the two of us. Seemed like it wasn't going to happen anytime soon.  "Now get ready." She said.  "Yes mam." I chuckled.  "Don't sass me. Now go, before you get late." She encouraged and I got up from my sleeping position and dragged my feet to the shower.  I wore my usual blue jeans with a simple top. Well I didn't have expensive clothes like Annabelle. Some of my clothes were just hand downs from her and her friends.  I slid my bag on my back and went downstairs to the kitchen. I found my mom already waiting with my lunch box and an apple at hand.  "Thanks Mom. I'll see you later." I gave her a kiss on the cheek and took the lunch box.  "But you haven't had breakfast yet?" She stressed. I raised the apple before bitting into it.  "I love you okay." I said chewing down the apple on my way out of the kitchen.  "I love you too…" After that a hear a heavy sigh but I continued going. She didn't like when I ditched breakfast but I didn't like breakfast either. I just didn't love the sense of eating in the morning and I just didn't understand it. I continue bitting on my apple as I left the house. Well unlike Annabelle I had to walk to school. She wouldn't let me ride with her because she wouldn't want to be seen in the same place as me unless she was making fun of me or enslaving me.  Luckily school wasn't very far, so walking everyday was like a needed jog in the morning.  I look around at the very huge surrounding neighborhood. Everyone was so rich around where I leave. All with nice cars and clothes. Well I too had to go to school, get a paying job and finally give my mother the kind of treatment she deserves.  Finally I came to face the school premises and my happiness was immediately derailed. I didn't like the place, I was only going because I had to. Everywhere I went everyone would stop, look and whisper. I mean I've been in this school for years I thought they would be use to having a poor girl in the school. I guess they can never get used to none other than designer clothes, fancy cars and money.  I quickly rushed to my locker. Checked my timetable for the day, took the books that I need and threw the rest in the locker before locking it. I rushed to my first class just so I could get rid of the stares. I usually sit in the back so less people would look at me.  As usual my least favorite time of the day came. Lunch time. I hate because there are too many to stop, look and whisper.  I quickly went to find a sit before it was too crowded. I sat on my usual spot which accomodated less people. Took out my lunch box and fiddled through the food.  " Hey Rhea…How was your morning walk." A voice sounded behind me with small chuckles after it.  "What do you want Annabelle?" I grumbled.  " Me and my friends are going shopping after school and we need someone to carry the bags. So don't dare be late." She said and I rolled my eyes in my head. She was so insufferable.  "I'm not your personal servant Annabelle!" I stressed.  " You're what I want you to be. Unless you want a little discussion with my dad and you know very well how will that end for your mom." She whispered so close to my ear. I was literally boiling with anger but she was right. When ever Annabelle tells his dad something about me it usually gets to my mom and she would get punished because I was "naughty". I didn't want my mom getting beaten up every night so I had to listen to whatever Annabelle tells me.  "Fine." I mumbled trying so hard to hold back my anger.  "Good girl." She said. "Ladies let's ditch this pathetic loser before she infects us with her poverty." The two girls which were following her ran away as if it was actually contagious or anything. After Annabelle left I breathe out relief. Well at least she didn't dump anything on my hair this time or throw my lunch away.
