Wynn’s POV
I get out of the shower debating on what I’m going to wear tonight. I finally decided on a pair of black jeans and a red top. I straighten my hair and do my makeup. I never wear a lot. I don’t like being “made up”. My phone chirps and I check to see who my text message is from.
-Hey, do you think you can pick me up? Of course, Ava doesn’t want to drive.
-Yes Ava, I’ll be there close to eight thirty. I know she is going to complain about the time.
-Don’t you want to get there at eight thirty. She doesn’t want to be late since Mitch is going to be there.
-I believe in being fashionably late.
-I will see you close to eight thirty. I know Ava is upset but I’m not ready yet.
I finish getting ready and look at my reflection. I look nice. Not overly nice, but nice. My phone chirps again. What could Ava possibly want now?
-Hey beautiful. Are you ready? IT’S COOP! IT’S COOP!
Breathe Wynn breathe. It’s just a pretty boy. Who can kiss and sends lightning shooting through my body?
-Just about. Coop. Are you? Maybe Cooper needs help putting on clothes? Showering? Rubbing on lotion?
-Yes. Sebastian is in the kitchen drinking. *Insert eye roll* Cooper seems bothered by Sebastian’s drinking as well.
-He turns into a different guy when he drinks. I don’t like him. I shiver as I think about it
-I don’t like it either. I’ll try to keep it to a minimum.
-You can only do so much. He’s an adult. I like this guy more and more.
-We’re leaving, do you need anything?”
-You’ll sit beside me. I’m crossing my fingers like a small child.
- I already planned on it, beautiful. I can imagine Cooper being in front of me saying it.
-See you shortly.
We get to Katy’s backyard which is a little crowded but not too bad. It’s our inner circle and then a few more people. Katy doesn’t invite a lot. It's probably about thirty or forty. I see Sebastian’s car when we pull in but try no to squeal like a schoolgirl. Says the schoolgirl. I happen to catch him with Sebastian and Mitch. He excuses himself and makes a beeline for me. He puts his hand on the small of my back and whispers into my ear, “You look amazing.”
My face is red. I know it is. “Thank you. Do you want to find seats?” My face is down hoping my face will return to its normal color.
“Yes. I’ve been waiting for you.” Cooper leads me with his hand on my back.
Ava walks behind us. We pick a couch beside a Chinese maple. There is a blanket in front of it. Cooper chooses the right side at the end, and I get in the middle. Ava is on the left side. Ava understands she is not allowed to move regardless of what anyone begs or pleads. Mitch comes over to us. Ava is suddenly sitting at attention. “Just a fair warning, Sebastian is a bit drunk. I think he has a flask. So just beware. Can I get you ladies something to drink?” Mitch is looking right at Ava for the order.
“Can you get us all waters?” Ava asks, sweetly.
“Not a problem. Can I sit over here tonight?” He looks at me for permission.
“That’s fine.” I tell him. Ava squeezes my wrist.
“Great. Three waters. I’ll be right back. “
Ava lets out a little squeal that only dogs can hear.
Everyone starts getting in their seats. Mitch sits up on the couch with us which has me practically on Cooper’s lap. He smiles at me and whispers, “I thought I was going to have to talk you into this.” He chuckles.
“It wouldn’t have taken much talking,” I suddenly said seriously.
“Sit on my lap,” he whispers.
I crawl onto his lap and his lips find my ear. He nibbles on my ear and I’m trying not to moan. He kisses my neck and I wrap my arms around his chest. Our eyes lock and I kiss him. Not on the neck or the ear, but on the mouth. We are in the darker part of the yard towards the back. I have no clue where Sebastian is and frankly, I don’t care.
Someone hits my foot. I stop kissing Sebastian to see who it is. Ava is looking at me with her huge eyes. She softly whispers. “Sebastian is staring at you two. I don’t know how long but he’s staring, and he’s upset.”
Cooper and I look over at him. Victor is standing next to him. Sebastian takes out his flask and finishes it. Sebastian takes out his keys like he is going to leave. Victor goes to stop him, but Sebastian pushes him. Mitch and Cooper go to stop him along with several other guys.
I can’t hear what is being said between Cooper and Sebastian but Sebastian
tries to hit him. He falls to the ground. Cooper tries to help him up, but Sebastian can be heard cursing him. He gets up and throws his keys to the ground as he walks out of Katy’s yard. Victor follows him. Cooper grabs Sebastian’s key. Cooper stands there looking down. I walk over to him. I put my hand on his back. I wait for him to rebuff me, but he doesn’t. He looks at me like I’m an angel.
Cooper puts his arms around me and gives me a hug. “It’s not your fault. Don’t
think that for a second.”
“I shouldn’t have been kissing you.”
“We like one another. Should we hide it?” Cooper asks. Looking at me for an answer.
“No, we shouldn’t. That would be bad.” I can’t imagine hiding my feelings for him.
“No hiding then?”
“No hiding, Coop.” I kiss him.
We go back to where we were sitting and watch the movie.
