Chapter Six

1242 Words
Wynn’s POV                           I face Cooper and smile. “What is it?” He asks. He is searching my face for a clue as to why I’m so excited. “You just said to yourself, is it too early to tell her I love her?” Cooper smiles and grabs me. He hugs me tightly and kisses me. I am getting exactly what I wanted. I’m beyond thrilled. We get off the trail and back to the car. I call Shelby and my friends. Cooper calls his parents and friends. I get nominated to call Sebastian.  “Hello.” “Hey Bash. How are you?” “I’m doing much better today. I’m so sorry for showing my ass last night.” “That is what you normally do when you drink.” I hate having to point out the obvious to him.  “You’re right I do.” He lets out a sigh.  “I called to tell you something.” I dread his reaction. “Okay what is it? You know you can tell me anything.” “Cooper is my Everlasting.” I brace myself for the yelling. “He’s what?” “I just heard his voice a little bit ago. I want to tell you right away.” I can’t keep the excitement out of my voice. I’m happy and I want my best friend to be happy for me. “Are you joking?” There is an edge of anger to his voice. “No, I’m not.” I’m getting annoyed. “He is your Everlasting?” “Yes.” I’m slowly walking the camel to water.  “I need to go.”  He ends the call. I’m stunned.                            I look over at Cooper. He smiles at me and then hugs me. I want to cry but I’m too angry to cry. “I’m so sorry, Wynn.” “It’s fine. He’ll stop being an ass and it just might be too late for him.” “You love him too much for it ever to be too late for him.” “Don’t think that Coop. He has made me angry.” “Okay. Well, I’m sorry.” “It’s not your fault.” “If I wouldn’t have come none of this would have happened.” “If you wouldn’t have come, I wouldn’t have found my Everlasting.” “You have a point there.”                            We go by Sebastian’s house where he isn’t there and grab Cooper’s stuff and take it to my place. Shelby welcomes with open arms. “I guess we just have to wait for the angel to show up and give us the wedding date,” Shelby says. “I’m thinking sometime in December.” I say. Doing the math in my head. “Why do you think that?” Cooper asks. “It’s usually two to three months after finding your Everlasting.” “With our luck we’ll get Christmas.” Shelby makes a dirty look. “Let’s not think like that.” I say. Secretly hoping for mid-December.  About that time a woman in a white pants suit shows up. “Hello Wynn. My name is Chelle. I’m your angel. I’m here to give your wedding date and to help in any way that I can.” “Hi Chelle. We were just discussing you.” “I know you were. Hence why I thought now would be a good time to crash.” Chelle walks closer to me. She has a bright smile and a cheerful personality.  “When is the wedding date?” Shelby asks. She has a planner in front of her. “New Year’s Eve. You have until midnight to get it done.” “Oh, that could be beautiful.” Shelby gushes I can see her mind going a million miles a minute.  “Wynn, I must see you alone about a few things.” “Okay, not a problem. We can go into the office.” I lead her into Shelby’s office.                            We get into Shelby’s office and she locks the door then she says, “Silentium.”  I look at her funny.  “I made it that no one can hear us.” “Oh okay. It’s one of those conversations.” My stomach started doing flips.  “You have another mate. You will meet him tonight. You will be so caught up in Cooper though that he will fall to the side. I ask that you get to know him. He is very special. Remember you can have a claim with him and a marriage with a regular Everlasting with Cooper.” “I don’t want another.” I say. I say it with such authority I surprise myself.  “I understand that. Just consider it.” “I see the mental image you are sending me of him. He is very attractive. Beautiful blue eyes, built, five eleven, he is nice looking. Coop is nicer. Coop was made for me. I know he was.” A pretty boy wasn’t going to take me away from my one true love.  “Yes, you were made for each other, but this man happened to come along. That’s the best way I can put it.” “You are being very evasive about him. Is he not human?” I don’t know why that came to mind, but it did.  Her eyes are huge. I hit the nail on the head. “I’m not at liberty to say.” “Well, that’s a yes. So, some alien creature has me as an Everlasting?”  More reason for a strong NO. “He isn’t an alien. He just isn’t human.” She says. I can tell she wants to explain the whole thing, but her hands are tied.                           I walk to the window and look out. I rack my brain for things that aren’t human. Vampires, werewolves, fairies, what else? “You’ll find out tonight if you talk to him.” She says. She feels as though that’s an in. Not likely. “I don’t see me talking to him just to find out if he is a Titan or a Vampire. Highly unlikely.” I say honestly. “Well then I guess you’ll have no answers.” “I’m fine with that. I plan to dance with Coop all night. I want to spend the night with him. My Everlasting. Tomorrow is my birthday. I want to be with him. He leaves Monday to go back to school. I just want time with him. This pretty boy, if he's not human I’m sure, is available anytime.” I’m more and more confident about where I stand.  “Alright. I get the point. I will let him know. I don’t believe this will deter him but at least he’ll know what is going on.” “Are we done now?” I ask. I’m getting annoyed that some guy thinks he can dictate how my evening should go. “Yes, we’re done.”                           We go out into the living room. Cooper and Shelby are patiently waiting. Cooper kisses me as soon as he sees me. “Well, I’m going to take my leave. I will see you soon, Wynn.” “Have a good day.” I tell her.  With that she disappears. Leaving me to wonder about the handsome stranger who isn’t human that is supposed to turn my world upside down.
