17 Ariel A bit after breakfast the next morning—Christmas Eve—I dashed out to visit the pharmacy. I’d seen one not too far from the estate and knew I could make the walk and no one would be the wiser. Galen was busy helping his father hang stockings for all the grandchildren. Galen’s brother had two boys, and his three sisters had twelve children altogether, so the mansion, although large—well, huge, actually—would soon be brimming with people.
