Elias's words hit me like a lead weight. It doesn't exist. Zero exits. White noise. I hung up the phone slowly, letting my arm fall to my side. The device slipped from my gloved fingers, but I caught it at the last second before it plummeted into the mud. I turned to Marcus. "Get me the officer in charge of this shithole of a port," I ordered. I didn't shout. I didn't raise my voice. But the tone was so lethal, so devoid of humanity, that Marcus visibly paled before nodding militarily and running off toward the dilapidated port authority buildings.
