I don’t know what came to my mind, but I left Matt at the cinema. And for heaven’s sake, he only realized that after the movie.  What an ass!  I wanted to know him better or even gave him a chance to prove himself. But what he did last night we’re a big no-no for me. He disappointed me.  Since last night I’m not answering his call, but he kept on calling me.  “Are you gonna keep that phone ringing?” Mom glanced at me. So I don’t have a choice but to turn it off. He's lucky if I answered it.  “Sorry, it was the game I was playing lately, Mom, and it kept on sending notifications offline.” I lied.  “Eat. We're going to the new property I bought. It's near the building I bought before. You can check it, Tally, we can expand or renovate the area,” Dad declared.  Our family business was in real estate. Mom and Dad are always busy traveling in some places. It helps them to know about some places and familiarize themselves with the city. They even stay there for a month to gather some data about new strategies to enhance that property. And my two brothers do the same too. I’m the only one who stayed here at the house and waited for them to tell me what to do.  “Haven’t you renovated that building yet? It's been months since you acquired that lot.”  “Yeah, they have issues about the tenant, so they settle it first before I sign the contract. We don’t want another problem in the future because of that building.”  I picked a floral dress for my meeting with Dad. As usual, Ari is with us. She’s like an extended daughter in our family. I don't know how long she’ll stay beside me and help me with everything I need.  ”Hey, Aunt Mela’s been looking for you. What happened with your date last night?” I glanced at Ari, who was sitting on my bed.  ”I left him.” I replied to her. ”Why? I thought you liked him?” shock was written on her face. “Yeah, but that doesn’t mean I will endure him. He left me stuck in the middle of the cinema. He chooses a seat on the far side of the aisle, so I need to pass and bump into people’s heads while passing by. I almost cried because people kept calling me names.”  “That's the first time you go out, so he doesn't have any idea,” Ari said.  Somehow she has a point, but still, I can’t get over that guy who made me think a little. He made me realize something, but I still wanted to experience the joy that I’m a woman with him. That feeling that I’ve never felt before, that excitement and joy that none of them can give. I wear a jacket over my dress because the winter is coming, so the weather outside was somewhat chilling.  “Dad, do we need to bring them inside?” I asked my father when I saw his bodyguards follow us inside the building.  “It’s for safety, Tally. We don’t know what might happen? They hate the owner of this building,” he responds before walking.  So I don’t have a choice but to follow them too.  There are so many people standing outside of the building. Some of them were holding placards. This is what Dads saying why we need the bodyguard. Ari pulled me when I stopped in the middle of walking when I saw someone familiar.  Is that Matt?  “Did you see him, Ari?”  “Who? I didn’t see anyone. Let's go. Your Dad’s been looking for you.”  I did see Matt in that crowd. But when I look back again, I can’t find that face anymore. Did I mistake him for someone?  I don’t think so.  We stayed there for a few hours. It's a good thing that my parents were busy. So I sneaked outside the building and tried to roam around. The building was nice. But the environment and the establishment around it were not ideal for its type. I was busy roaming around, and I didn’t notice I was already on the rooftop. “You’re with the new owner of this building, right?” someone asked that from nowhere.  I saw a woman who came out of the corner holding a piece of wood. Is that for me? I step back when I realize what’s gonna happen.  “She’s the daughter that I heard,” another girl said.  So they're around me now. How great! “Stop, Anna, ” someone shouted when they walked towards me. I saw Matt coming out of the corner. So it’s him, I was not hallucinating a while ago, it’s him. The two women look at him, confused with what he said.  “It’s you!”  “You’re the daughter of the new owner,” he said with disgust.  “You ruin our home. You make us leave without notice!” the other girl shouted again.  “My father is a businessman. The owner of this building sells this to him, and he thinks I’ll make him a profit, so he bought it. He already gave all the time to leave, but you took that for granted, and instead, you fight with them. We own this building in the legal process. If you have a problem with that, you should take it to court and file it against the past owner, not on us.” I don’t know if they understand what I’m trying to say. But I hope they are coz, and my father wouldn’t take a budgie if they end up in jail.  “Huh! You’re rich. That's why you don’t know how to lose the roof where you live.” He said it as if it’s my or our fault if they sleep on the street.  “I’m sorry,” I whispered and turned my back on them.  I never thought that they'd do something to me. Coz, when I turn my back, someone attacks me from behind. But the wood didn’t hit me. Someone caught it for me. There I saw Matt lying on the ground unconscious, and the two girls were running away. “Help… Someone help me!” I shouted so many times for people to notice us.  I tried calling Ari, but she’s not answering her phone. Thank God that Daddy’s head of security we’re alert and heard my voice. Everybody, even my parents, was now in panic attacks because of what happened to me.    ”Are you okay, Tally?” Dad asked for the third time.  ”Yeah, I’m good. Good thing that man was there to help me out, but he ends up hurting his own life.” I didn’t tell them that I know the guy that he’s the guy I met before one of my friend’s parties. Mom will go berserk if she hears that. Because she doesn’t know we sneak into that party, I asked Ari to help me. ”Aren’t we gonna go there with Ari?” I asked.  ”No need. Ari’s already there, so she knew what to do about the guy. Besides, If the guy need some compensation for what he did to you—”  ”But, Dad, he saved my life. Can’t we thank him in person to be sincere?” ”Why are you pushing that, Tallulah? Is there something going on between you and that guy?”  I was caught off guard by what Mom said, which made me quiet. I never thought that she'd get to that point of conclusions about me. The mother has great instincts.  I texted Ari and asked her what happened to Matthew. Even though I'm here at home, I was still worried that he might get some serious damage because of what happened. It's supposed to be me, but he risked his life even if I left him last night and ignored his calls so many times. I never expected him to do that. Besides, he's also one of the families who got kicked out of that building too. ”Hello, Ari. What took you so long?” I hissed.  ”Oh, sorry. Did I keep you waiting? Actually, I was here standing outside your door—” I didn’t wait to finish her talking. I ended up calling and running to the door, and there I saw her smiling from ear to ear. ”Funny!” I rolled my eyes at her. ”Sorry, let’s eat. I'm hungry.”  I can’t ask her what happened because she kept talking about the hospital and how busy they are. I’m not interested in that one. I want to know if Matt was okay.  ”What?” she asked when I glared at her. At last, she stops talking.  ”Tell me what happens to him? Is he okay? Where is he now? Does he have severe damages or something—”  ”Woah! Hold it right there. You talk like a machine gun. One at a time, he’s okay now. We already drove him home, and your Dad wanted to meet him tomorrow. Are we good now?”  ”Did you say thank you to him for me?”  ”Yup—hey!” she yelled when I pushed her out of my room. ”I need to rest early. He’s coming here tomorrow.”  ”Oh, come on, Tallulah, for him?” I put my finger on my mouth to stop her from talking. Mom might hear us. She’s good on that part, though. Ari looked at me with her mouth open, but she had no choice but to leave. I know, but it’s Matt, and I need to talk to him, so I need to sleep early to look fresh. I’m delighted with the news that his son and father wanted to meet him. At least they still have the decency to thank someone. ”Why so happy today, honey?”  ”Nothing, Mom. I was thankful, ” I chirped.  ”That’s good. I was introducing you to someone later. He’ll be here by lunchtime.”  I didn’t argue or go against my father’s remarks knowing it was someone I like that he wanted me to meet. I was so happy and energetic the whole time. Waiting for the time my Dad said, but even before luncheon, I saw Matt walking out on our mansion.  I ran and tried to catch his pace even it’s too hard for me. ”Matt…Matthew, ” I called him again. ”Tallulah… Are you okay?”  ”Where are you going?” I asked him, trying to catch my breath. ”Leaving. Why do you need anything?”  ”I thought you’re going to meet my Dad?” confused about what he said.  ”Yeah, I already did. That’s why I’m leaving, ” he mumbled, trying to avoid my eyes.  ”What happened?” he smiled. ”Did he do something?” I asked again. This time it’s full of worry that my family did something wrong to him.  ”Nothing. I was thankful for your father’s help, but that’s not what I want.” My brow furrowed with his words. He’s like a puzzle I can’t even understand. He caught my gaze and smiled at me. I almost gasped when he touched my face and put a strand of my hair on my ears. He’s giving me goosebumps, and it’s scaring me, coz I’ve never felt this before. ”I wanted you, Mary Tallulah. I wanted every bit of you.” I blink so many times in case I heard it wrong, but it’s not. My jaw dropped at what he said. Feel like my heart almost jumped out of my chest and exploded. He’s making my first time complicated.  ”I wanted to court you and make you my girl, Mary Tallulah. Can you be mine?” Oh, my God!  I was never ready for this. I was never gonna be ready for this confession.
