“Did you hear? Beta Dan was able to ward off most of the rogues on his own,” I heard a guard say.
“That’s true, I saw it with my own two eyes. He looked unstoppable at that moment,” another said.
“That’s impressive,” a third answered.
“Definitely. When others ran and hid in the chaos, he stepped up and proved why he deserved to be a beta—courage, power and impact all rolled into one,” a fourth said.
“To me, he deserves to be our leader,” someone else added, and my eyes widened as fury coursed through my veins like fuel.
“We already have a leader, Alpha Marco,” another voice protested.
“Yes, but with the way things are now, Beta Dan deserves to be Alpha. If not for him we wouldn’t be standing right now. He deserves it,” the man insisted, and that was the last I was willing
