“What do you mean odd?” Dan asked.
“I mean the atmosphere. Everything feels off—especially from the guards. It’s almost like someone told them something that’s making them act this way.” I said, my concern rising with every word.
“Well… you could say that,” Dan replied, and the look on his face only made me more uneasy.
“What do you mean by that?” I asked.
“We’ve already discussed the details of what happened these past few days, and as you know, not everyone—if not most people—is happy with Marco’s choices.
Because of the consequences of those choices—the bodies that were brought back and buried, the murmurs from the warriors, the news that spread through the pack… although that was inevitable—it’s the cause of the unease you’re noticing.
