I’m so glad you’re looking better now—healthy and all well-rounded again.” Ruben’s cheerful voice rang through the room, his bright expression faltering slightly when he caught the dark scowl on Dan’s face. “Well… the frown’s a ruiner, though. Better get rid of that.” Ruben’s eyes then darted to me, then back to Dan, and then to my desk—his gaze shifting rapidly like he was piecing together a puzzle, trying to figure out what he’d just walked into.
