Chapter 35: The Inner Visions

1041 Words
Gorma tried to attain the greatest level of tranquility, for it was time for her to achieve that now. Things were all going from bad to worst. She has already used the much advantageous ‘Impersonate’ trick three times and hence cannot use it again in their Witch life.  Gorma was very worried about the recent events too. Gorma pushed her thoughts aside and began to concentrate on her dark meditation. She began to imagine a circle in her mind’s eye. Soon she began to imagine the circle acquiring many colors. She waited patiently for the circle to change into dark black. Black is what mattered for a witch. Slowly she began to feel the blackness all around her. “Gorma, Gorma, How can you sleep at this hour, I - I have terrible news for you.” Rukma ran in and screamed at once. Gorma felt as if she had just fallen off a cliff. She was about to achieve the great tranquility and here was her sister, breaking it for her. “You fool, what have you done?  Alas! You have broken my tranquility when I was about to achieve its peak.” Gorma showed her irritation at once. “Oh! I thought you were sleeping, in fact you looked like. Gorma, I am sorry, I - I didn’t mean to interrupt your peace.” “Well, now you have done that very successfully, go on with your blabbing, what is that news?”  Gorma controlled her anger and was at once interested in the news. News - good or bad, it mattered most to her. “Gorma, I saw that three young kids of the Priest practicing with weapons this morning.” “Why would they do that?” Gorma said thinking hard. Is there any reason behind it? They were just kids and kids usually won’t play with weapons. “Rukma are you sure you saw them practicing with weapons? And who else was with them?” Gorma looked in the eye of her sister to make sure that she is not lying. “I did saw them with my very own eyes. Of course, I am not lying - Gorma, for Witch mother’s sake don’t look at me like that, and there were no other soul with them.” Rukma explained with a huge frown on her face. “Hmm – Interesting! Are they planning to go the seven mountains by themselves secretly?” Gorma thought for a moment and after sometime, she began to smile widely. “What happened? Why are you smiling?” Rukma questioned with utter confusion. Gorma looked at her sister very affectionately and took her hands in hers. “Perhaps, you have brought me the good news. It would help us if the kids wander in the forest by themselves, it will indeed help us Rukma.”    ** The Warlock of the west walked back very peacefully. Atma looked up at his direction before he could the see the old Warlock. He had indeed sensed his presence beforehand. After few moments he saw Mahapitha walking slowly towards them. The three were eagerly waiting for him. They had a great experience during his absence. All of them were able to see things in their inner mind. It looked like a miracle. Atma had seen the wailing Queen and after sometime he had seen her smile widely. It indeed looked very strange. Bakula has seen Princess herself, he saw her opening her beautiful eyes and looking at her mother Queen Keertidevi.   Vasundari had difficult time in opening her inner mind, dark images seemed to disturb her with wild thoughts and after a hard fight with that she was able to see some images of bleeding Baba and she had opened her eyes with a scream. Mahapitha smiled at the three eager faces, he understood at once that they had some success in opening their inner mind. “Go on, tell me what exactly you all saw.” the old Warlock prompted looking at each in turn. “I saw the wailing Queen, but after some moment she was smiling, I - I could not understand the meaning of this Mahapitha.” Atma reported his experience very eagerly. “Indeed, the Queen was wailing when I went, later after my assurance she began to smile. So Atma, that tells me that you are really good in opening your inner mind. However, you have to learn to understand the meaning of those visions.” Mahapitha patted him on the back and looked at Bakula for an answer. “I - I saw the Princess Chitrakshi herself, she had opened her eyes and was looking at her mother.” Bakula narrated his experience in single breath. “Very well, that is exactly what has happened, I made her to open her eyes for a short period with the help of this Blue Sapphire, but unfortunately soon after that she has gone back into her poisonous trance once again, nonetheless that gave some hope to all, especially the Queen.” “This is so surprising! What we have seen is absolutely correct, it did happen, isn’t it Mahapitha?” Atma said in excitement. “Yes, you are right. What you all have witnessed is interlinked and since you followed my advice, you were able to see the things just by being here.” “What about me? I had problem in seeing things, there - there seemed a dark images and thoughts obstructing me all the time. Finally after a hard concentration, I too had a very vague image, but that is not at all linked to what Atma and Bakula had seen.” Vasundari began to sob gently; she always despised the failures, no matter big or small.  “It is all interlinked my darling; tell me what exactly you saw?” Mahapitha took her hands gently in his. “I saw very horrible pictures of Baba bleeding, but - but that just have nothing to do with this, isn’t it?” Vasundari was very eager for an answer. “In fact, it has. You were far more successful in opening your inner mind than this two, you have travelled a long way and it just means that Baba and Saba has indeed kept their foot on the first mountain.” “But why was Baba bleeding?” Vasundari’s eyes twinkled at once with new hope. “Because they have heard the call of lord Trilochana, perhaps they might be in trouble at this time, but worry not; they are too good to survive that. Now sit here I shall start my second lesson at once.” Mahapitha sat on the ground very gently. ****
