Fire and Blood raged all around them. The sounds of wailing and agony came from all sides of the building. The warriors who had been ambushed called themselves the Cherubim and right now they found themselves in a horrible situation trying desperately for their weapons room with little success. They were the people of the chosen blood but there weren't many of them. Here they stood in their own home being fought by impossible numbers of enemies. Their offenders we're pouring in, finding their way through any entryway not overtaken by fire. The Cherubim were fast, well trained, but so was their enemies, and unlike their enemy they had no weapons.
“Burn It Down!” Snarled Gabriel, the enemy leader. He had plans to s*******r them all, all except one. Her, he wanted for his very own.
The fighting continued as the smoke and fire got thicker and hotter, but somehow the fighting began to shift. A few of the Cherubim began making their way closer and closer to the weapons room. Blocking, ducking, fighting, until one of them had made it in. With three swords in his hands, he passed it to his closest friend. Using fighting styles they'd been perfecting for many years. They fell perfectly into step, two of them fighting back to back protecting each other, trying with everything that they had to reclaim their home.
The blood of their enemy flowing freely. The laughter that had echoed through the halls could no longer be heard. The dark ones knew they were losing their hold; no amount of numbers could save you from those you could not touch. Through it all Gabriel search, the smoke so thick he could barely see the person closest to him. Everything was making his efforts all the more difficult and his temper flare till he growled to begin a retreat. “Let's” -
The knife struck his shoulder so suddenly, he stopped mid-sentence. Ferocity enveloping him, he ripped the knife from his shoulder turning to face his attacker
“Looking for me?” And he could hardly believe his eyes, it was her.
“Yes!” He hissed through gritted teeth. The tug a smile pulling at one side of his face. He had finally found her and this was exactly what he wanted.
The two stared at each other ready to take this fight to end thinking of the fact that this hadn't always been their story. They had once been so much more, but it definitely wasn't the end.
