Jessica's pov

Oh my gosh what did I just do, did I just kiss Philip Duncan back there? The party was already in full swing, the country music had been swapped for pop music, and people were now dancing with more energy.

“ Jessica, where have you been? we have been looking for you.” my mom called me across the room where she sat at a table sipping a bottle of champagne, I walked to her and my legs were jelly.

I wonder whether one could tell from my face that I just recovered from a steamy smooch a few seconds ago. I didn't have the time to check my face. Thankfully I am not on make-up if not I stand a greater chance of being exposed.

“ Did you see Philip?”, Mr Duncan asked me.

“ No I didn't”, I lied.

“ Philip is now your brother darling, you should do well to get along with him as siblings.” my

His words stinged my ears; Philip my brother… did I just sucked my brother's lip in lust?

Did he know that i just had a soul searching kiss with my so called brother, did he know that me and my so called brother got hard and wet from grinding against each other in the heat of passion.

Suddenly I felt goosebumps at the back of my neck and all the hairs in my body stood up.

“ Phil, where have you been,we have been looking all over for you” , my mom said excitedly.

I turned around to see Philip staring daggers at me, his eyes held a mixture of hurt and passion.

He pulled out the chair beside me slowly and sat down.

“ I went to catch some air outside”, he said, his eyes still on me, communicating something profound.

If our parents noticed the weird vibe between us, they didn't show it.

“ Me and Nicole were just discussing your new school Jess, you will resume soon, Philip is going to help you settle in”, my mom gestured to Philip.

Theophilus clear his voice “ I know it's hard for you to leave your old school, your old friends behind, but trust me you are going to love bridgerton high school, I am a patron in the school and I have informed the principal and staff of your arrival you are going to have the best education and experience there “,

My mom turned to kiss him “ thank you so much honey, you are such a darling,”

“ You don't need to thank me, she is also my daughter,” he clasped his hands in hers.

“ You don't know what this means to Jessica, she left behind her best friend and her boyfriend Marcus, she misses them everyday, thank you for seeking ways to make her happy again”, Nicole was almost tearing up.

“ Jess You should invite your friend and you boyfriend over sometimes”, Theo said

I felt Philip stiffen beside me, I felt the content of my stomach turning and rumbling.

Philip spoke up for the first time “ So our Jessica has been taken huh?”I don't want to look at him and see the accusatory look in his face but I heard the bitterness in his voice.

My mum clapped her hands together, “ yes she and Marcus are madly in love with each other, Jessica misses him every day, they are such a lovely couple.”

Gosh my mum is making thing worse for me, my eyes became blurred with tears as I stood up while knocking the chair over

“ Mum I am feeling sick, I need to go home now”,

“ Wait there,” they called after me but I ran off as fast as I could

Philip pov

I was seething with rage as my leg carried me through the hall.

“Where is she? Where the hell is Jessica?”

My eyes ran through the hall searching desperately for the one my soul yearns for.

My eyes moved to the left side of the hall, and there she was huddled behind a pillar.

My heart went out to her, I went over and held her, she looked at me with those big teary eyes.

“ Let's go”, I dragged her outside to the parking lot. I can't allow her to go home alone in this messy state.

The ride home was thick with emotion that a knife could cut it. I can't count how many times I exceeded the speed limit, anger and impatience was swelling inside me. I only stopped when Jessica yelled at me.

“ Do you f*****g have a death wish” her eyes enlarged in fear, I stopped because I can't bear to see her hurt.

When we reached the Duncan mansion she opened the car door and ran inside leaving me behind, I ran after her

“ No she is not getting away from this and leaving me in the air, I need answers, I want to know whether I am the only one experiencing this unquenchable fire burning inside of me”, I have never hated anyone I haven't meet until today, I detested Marcus from the depths of my heart.

I went after Jessica, met her as she was about to enter her room and cornered her with my hands and pinned her against a wall.

“ Who is Marcus and how important is he to you?”

“ Philip I have had enough of this night, I need to retire to my room”,

“ No Jessy, I have not had enough and I won't let you slip away”, she should not f*****g dare me

“ What do want from me Philip”,

“ Who is Marcus to you”,

“ Marcus is my boyfriend, as you already know, I am hitched “, I swore beneath my breath

“ As from today Marcus is a nobody to you, no one messes with what I own “,

“ What are you trying to be? An overprotective brother”,

“ Philip we can't be together, I am your sister and you are my brother, we are family.” She said when she recovered from her shock.

“ I am not your brother Jess, we are not in any way related by blood,” I said my patience wearing thin. All I wanted at that moment was to pin her down in my bed and bury myself in between her thighs.
