*Calypso*
It felt as though everything had changed. My entire world was different now. Yet, almost as though the world was taunting me, so many things were the same.
I was still Calypso Ellwood. A werewolf. I was five feet and five inches and proud of every inch. Although werewolves are naturally strong and fit, with fast metabolism to boost, it still only did so much. I had worked hard for my strength and speed.
I was fit and toned, a muscular yet slightly curvy body, honed with cardio and fighting as opposed to weights. I had olive skin, tanned from my father's Italian heritage as well as the large amount of time I spent in the sun. My head was adorned with rich chocolate brown hair, also inherited from my father, that hung in loose waves to just below my shoulder blade.
I was most definitely considered beautiful, however most werewolves were. Yet my favourite feature of my human body was my eyes. They held every colour; blue, green, grey and brown swirled and shifted together, dotted with flecks of gold. They constantly changed. Some days the blue was so deep and shifted across the browns and greens like rain falling. Other days the green crept across the brown and blue like the a growing wall of trees and vines. Yet some days the grey rolled across and darkened like thunder clouds across the sky.
I got so much of my looks from my father. My caramel skin, chocolate hair and amazing eyes. Yet I did not get his wolf. Usually your wolf looks similar to you. My father's was rich chocolate brown with swirls of gold throughout. He was giant, an alpha, and stood as tall as my father at six feet and six inches. His eyes were a bright golden yellow and shone with his emotions. He was beautiful in his power and held a sense of authority, even more so than any other alpha I had seen.
And that made sense, considering who his mate was. The Moon Goddess. And in turn that made her my mother. Selene. I had never met her, and my dad only spent a year with her. She allowed herself one year to come down to Earth and spend it with her mate, my father. They are the usual mate story, falling in love at first sight and spending every waking moment together. Three months after she had left she returned, with a baby. My dad was overjoyed, and they named me Calypso. My mother had to return and I was raised by my dad right up until now 17 years later.
Personally, I thought my dad got a shitty deal. I love him, don't get me wrong, and he was an amazing father. But he did it alone. We were surrounded with mates loving each other, being together and raising their children as a united family. I was jealous, without any doubt. Yet my father was content. He said all he needed in this life was me and in the next he would have my mum. I guess he got that, he was with my mother now. Happy and at peace. While I was still here left to deal with, well, everything.
My mother was a secret. I, the moon goddess' daughter, was a secret. And my wolf would give that away in an instant in her natural form. Her name was Moon. Ironic I know. And although I somewhat resented my mother, I loved the only thing she gave me, my beautiful Moon.
Moon had been carved from my mother's soul. She was massive, especially for a female wolf, almost as big as any alpha. She was bright white, the colour of the clearest, brightest moonlight, and had the iciest blue eyes. It wasn't normal to have a white wolf and upon seeing Moon people would have started asking questions. So my wolf was able to hide her natural form. Instead, she would appear smaller and chocolate brown, the same colourings as my father. Yet her piercing blue eyes always remained.
It had always been me, my father and Moon. Our little family. My dad always told me I was powerful, destined for great things. But, even though I doubted it, he would never be around to see it anyway. It was just me and my beautiful Moon now. Alone. And I didn't know what was going to happen next.
