Chapter 10: Prisoner

Jackson was pacing back and forth waiting for his sister to get back with Dominic. I don’t understand this girl, what does she want, I am sure she wants a caring family but she pushing us away. She seems almost afraid, but what could she possibly be afraid of? It cannot be us can it? He paced a bit looking at the entrance, where he smells sulphur. “What the…?” He spins around the backs away from a demon stood behind up, “Bet you weren’t expecting me.” The demon spoke evilly. “No not really, what do you want?” Jackson spoke casually as if he was used to it, as if he talked to this demon every day of his life. “I want to know what Sapphire is, what creature is she?” He looked at Jackson intrigued. “And are you what she is?” “What do you mean what she is? She is human that is all, just like me and my brother.” Jackson speaks confidently, though there was a doubt in his mind that this really was true, he had never seen anyone survive the process of becoming a zombie yet his sister could. The only possibility for that is if she was something supernatural, that would make sense as to why she is pushing me and Leo away, because she would think that we would kill her, but we never would. She is family after all. As long as she is not evil, which she doesn’t seem to be. Jacksons thoughts were soon disturbed by the deep voice of the demon, “She is more than human, no human has the strength or power to stop or fight the zombie process which is what Sapphire just done. Tell me what she is. Or I will take you and make you.” “If Sapphire is anything else then I have no idea what she is, I mean if you have been watching her than you would know that we haven’t seen each other is years.” Jackson folded his arms, looking towards the entrance hoping Sapphire and Dominic would come back soon. As if the demon knew what he was thinking he clicked his fingers and they were suddenly somewhere else. “What the hell? You know if Sapphire is something more than she will know that demons took me and even if she isn’t she will still know, she knows all of the signs of a demon’s presence.” Jackson yells glancing around, there were 6 demons in the room with him. They must really know Sapphire is something special for this many demons to be interested. If the demons are interested, then Lucifer will be interested in her. What could she be? What could she be hiding from us? Think Jackson think. If she is something this important then she has to be more than one thing, or then the demons wouldn’t be interested at all. “Aamon, what do you see? Does Jackson know what she is?” The demon that seemed to be in control spoke. Aamon walked over to Jackson, he wore all black like most demons did, the higher up ones liked to wear suits to show their superiority, then rest wore black or red to represent evil, darkness and the blood they shed. Aamon reached towards Jackson who just backed away. “Keep your filthy hands away from me demon.” “Abaddon, a little assistance here.” Aamon spoke with no patience for humans. Abaddon was the one in the suit, the one in charge of the whole situation. He pointed at Jackson then his finger swiftly moved down to point to the floor, forcing Jackson to kneel. Jackson tried to fight against the power, but it was way too strong for him, he felt the power around his knees, then before he knew it he was kneeling in front of Aamon. Aamon grinned and his hand touched Jacksons head, closing his eyes. He saw Jacksons past, how when he got back from a hunt his sister was gone, only thing that was left was a note stating that this life wasn’t for her, she couldn’t bare being left alone anymore. Aamon kept searching, he watched at how many supernatural creatures Jackson had slaughtered, how many demons he had exorcized. Aamon scowled, and pulled his hand away, it was Jacksons turn to smirk and laugh. “See I know nothing, maybe Sapphire is smarter than you after all, her not telling me was the smartest thing she had ever done, instead you just got to see me murder your family and other species.” Jackson taunted laughing. “Leraje; go and take one of the others to the ruin nearby, Sapphire will look there first, see what she is capable of, come back to me with a report, and do not die by her hand.” Abaddon commanded, within seconds two demons vanished into thin air. Oh s**t, Sapphire what have you got yourself into now? What could they surely want from you? Abaddon walks in front of him, “I want her to join my army, that is what I want. I mean it is going to take some persuasion, but she is pretty spectacular, from what I have seen anyways. She tries to hide who she is, I mean she has managed to in many ways, but we have been watching for a very long time. You are right she is smart, the way she uses her job to hide who she is, most people never look twice about a forensic looking at dead bodies in details, she can hide her hunting from everyone, she can take DNA, she can research viruses without people even wondering why she was doing it. She also makes a living out of her work. She knew this day was coming though, she prepared herself for this day.” Preparing herself for this day? This makes more and more sense, no wonder she ran away, if she knew she was something unique and special then she would want to stay far away from us, not only uncase we killed her but to protect us. Jackson looked at Abaddon who was staring at him. s**t he is listening. “I am always listening to your thoughts, but yes it does make sense doesn’t it, after all she didn’t turn into a zombie, that narrows what she is a lot, she isn’t a werewolf because they are capable of changing into a zombie because of their human side. In fact, it narrows it down to a Vampire, but she is more than that, I sense her power, no vampire holds that much power.” Abaddon filtered through his ideas to Jackson. “What makes you think she is a vampire?” Jackson quizzed. “She isn’t cold, nor is she pale, nor does she drink blood.” “Yes I know that is what is confusing. The only creature I know that heals from the zombie disease without a cure, is vampire because they are already dead, they have no heartbeat which means the disease cannot spread through the body. You really are stupid compared to your sister. How you managed to kill so many of us really is concerning.” “It is what I am good at, I may not be good at science or anything else but I am good at killing evil bastards like you.” Jackson yells. “Is that how you are going to talk to your sister? No wonder she kept this all from you, she doesn’t trust you with her life, and when you find out what she truly is are you going to be a brother or a hunter.” Abaddon questions his head tilting. “Will you be able to kill her? Will Leo be able to? Can you protect her from all the hunters when it all comes out?” “I will act like her brother, I could never hurt her, she is my sister for goodness sake, my brother couldn’t hurt her either.” “Are you sure about that? Are you 100% sure? He has been horrible to her since you got in town, he is jealous of the connection you and Sapphire have. He is just waiting for an excuse to kill her, and his thoughts are very dark towards her.” “You are lying; you are just trying to turn me against my brother!” Jackson shouts at the top of his lungs. “I am not, I will do anything to-” Abaddon was interrupted, by the return of his minion. “Ah you have returned, where is the other?” “He was slaughtered by Sapphire, she is extremely powerful, she is unharmed by our powers, even my mind ability, it is like she is immune to them all, which is impossible, no creature is immune to our powers.” Leraje spoke, her voice shaking slightly from fear. “Immune? She is even more powerful than I thought, this great, I must have her on our side.” He looks back at Jackson and smirks, “Luckily we have a bargaining chip, we just need to beat him up a bit.” Leraje grins, “With pleasure, my king.” She walks over to a table and torture tools appear on the table. “What shall we do first? Nails? Teeth?” “Tone it down a bit, we don’t want her completely hating us, just cut him a bit and bruise him a lot. Don’t need to remove anything.” Abaddon spoke. Leraje groaned, “You never let me have any fun.” Abaddon was in her face before she fully finished the word ‘fun’, “You do not complain about the commands that you are given, I want Sapphire on our team, if she is on their team then we are in trouble.” Jackson laughs hysterically, “Then you are screwed then aren’t you.” Abaddon turns slowly to look at him, “And what makes you think that?” Jackson tilts his head, staring Abaddon in the eyes, “You can’t get into her head if you could get in there then fair enough you could mind control her but you cannot get inside her head and control her like you can with others, you can’t make her be on your side which means you are screwed. Oh also, we are family, Humington’s never turn their back on each other especially when they need each other the most, she wouldn’t turn her back on us, you have nothing to bargain with, you may have me but it won’t take much for her to come here and get me and kick all your asses... if she is as powerful as you think she is.” He gloats, grinning. Abaddon’s nostrils flare, then he kicks Jackson in the chest causing him to fall on his back. “Then I will just kill her family.” He tilts his head, “Starting with you.” Jackson chuckles again, “Now who is the stupid one? If you kill her family then she will just want you dead, not want to join your team, if you make her alone then she will just use that to her advantage to hunt you down and kill you.” “Not if we kill you when she fights us to save you.” Abaddon snaps back. Leraje interrupts, “She said we keep underestimating her and even humans, we don’t know what she is capable of, she took the minion out so quick. I think the brother is right, taking her family out would be a bad idea, she would just unleash her wrath on us.” “We are demons! We should not be easy to kill! How did she kill our minion?” Abaddon yelled. “With a blade I believe.” Leraje spoke almost silently as she knew that this would seriously set Abaddon off. “There is no thing as a blade that can kill demons.” He roared. “There must be one now, maybe she created it? That is the only explanation, we saw that she made her own weapons maybe she made a few specials ones too.” Leraje suggested helpfully. Abaddon hissed through his teeth, “Beat the brother up, we need to figure out a plan before she gets here.” Leraje nodded, then walked over to Jackson and began lacing into him, just kicked him over and over. Jackson groaned curling up into a ball, trying to get into a defensive position, each blow hurting more and more, as it hit his stomach, chest, face, his arms went to his face trying to protect it. It wasn’t long until he started to feel himself drifting into the darkness, but he fought to keep his eyes open, though his vision was blurred with black circles in his sight. He let more groans escape, he heard Abaddon’s command. “Alright, that is enough, we do not want him dead.” “But he is still-” “Yes but the way you are kicking him in the head he will probably have a concussion, plus we need to make a plan now, Sapphire is very close.” “What about the guy she is with? You think it’s her boyfriend?” “Ahh, nice idea, make her chose between saving them and joining my team, she is sure to join then, there is no way that she would risk one of their lives.” Jackson found the strength to say, “She will-” he coughs a little then whispers, “outsmart you bastards.” Then numbness ran through his body quickly followed by darkness.
