The two took an empty table, with their plates filled. Vanessa was pinging while Sapphire focused on finishing her food.
"Hey Sapphire, check out the students page and see what's trending."
"You know I'm not a good fan of all this social media stuffs or students page just tell me what's trending."
And Vanessa showed Sapphire her phone.
"Gabe Williams, the new guy that has been rolled in. They all say he is the new cutest boy in school. What do you think?"
"Well..." Sapphire said as she examined the photo before her. "Not bad." She answered as she turned to her food.
"And guess what?"
"What?"
"He is the school's swimming coach, meaning, he is in charge of the swimming class. He is literally a staff and a student which is something Edville will never do. I don't understand what's with Edville, they've been doing weird things this session." Vanessa said scrolling through the comments and photos as she ate her meal.
"That explains why I've been seeing more females trooping into the swimming class."
"Exactly."
"Gabe, cool name for a cute guy."
"Oh my gosh!!!" Vanessa screamed attracting everyone's attention in the hall.
"Sorry." She apologized to them and they all diverted their attention.
"Why did you create such a scene?" Sapphire asked whispering.
"The school board just posted the existence of our department on the students platform!" She whisper screamed.
"Don't pull my legs." Sapphire said as she went over to Vanessa's seat and stared at her phone. "No way, this is amaz...." She stopped as she read through the comments.
"Say what?" One said.
"Justice department? come lick my shoes. Since you ain't got anything to do. You suck."
"I love that idea, she'll do justice to the shoes!"
"Why not a party department. You both are fools. Gosh! Why is my school filled with boring people."
"How could they still remember this, the shoe licking incident happened a long time ago. Oh God! I'm beginning to regret this." Sapphire said as she continued reading
"Vanessa Scott, isn't she the throne thief, how about you do justice to that."
"I hundred percent agree with you."
"Throne thief? I love that. That's a pretty amazing description. How did you come up with that?"
"Princess judge, help me. Help your great grand father's fool."
"LOL!! Gosh! I love you for that. Help your great grand fathers. I can't still stop laughing."
"How dare they?!" Vanessa's yelled as she banged her hand on the table standing up with annoyance.
"Calm down Vanessa." Sapphire said. Vanessa looked around and saw that all eyes were on her.
"What? What are you all staring at?"
"Take it easy princess." A boy said taking his plate to another table as his table was besides theirs.
Vanessa sat down.
"Take it to easy Vanessa. Look, you attracted everyone's attention again."
"I know, it's just that, they make me feel and realize I'm actually a throne thief."
"No you are not a thief. Getting the throne was by chance, your luck gave it to you. You didn't go force the Queen to choose you, she chose you at her own free will. If you listen to what everyone says, you will not survive. So just pretend deaf and move on. Remember, they also called me a shoe licker."
Vanessa scoffed.
"How about you concentrate on eating your food than operating your phone."
"Yeah that's better."
Immediately Sapphire's phone vibrated. She picked it up and saw a news headline that said...
"Top politician's daughter caught in a club drunk after taking much drugs."
Sapphire clicked on the headline and an image popped up of drunk girl being held by her bodyguards. She tried to get the face of the girl when Vanessa caught her.
"Really? Now you are the one operating your phone but i can't."
"Sorry." Sapphire said as she dropped her phone on the table.
"You know what..." She said as she dropped her cutlery. "This isn't working."
"Yes I concur and besides I've already lost appetite. How about we go do something more interesting than staying here sobbing about our misfortune."
"You are right." Vanessa said as they both stood up and walked out of the hall.
Everyone stared at them as they walked to their locker.
"They just realized how beautiful we are. Don't take it to heart." Vanessa consoled as she opened her locker and took Mr Matthew's gift earlier given to him by Annie.
"How about we go keep this safe." She said shutting her locker.
"That sounds cool."
They both walked to a room after their music class. Nobody ever entered that room. It was as though it had some kind of sacredness attached to it. They both shut the door behind them as they looked at the pile of gifts that covered almost all parts of the room.
"Mr Matthew sure has a lot of student fans. It's good to be good-looking." Sapphire said as she stared at the gift before with her mouth agape in bewilderment. "If I sell all this, I'm sure I'll become the world richest kid."
"If only they knew he does away with their gifts, I guess they wouldn't be so stupid to keep giving him." Vanessa said as she dropped the gift she had amongst the others.
"Even if they knew I'm sure they won't still stop... Besides, when are we going to open the gifts, for goodness sake this gifts belongs to us now and it was your idea we pile them up, now look how mighty it has become. When are we going to open them?"
"Soon, be patient, soon..." Vanessa spoke like a soothsayer that just saw a vision. "It's also hard for me too .Okay let's get outta here before I change my mind." Vanessa said as she pushed Sapphire out of the room.
"No, I would have loved you to change your mind." Sapphire said in disappointment.
"Don't worry..." Vanessa said placing her arms around her shoulders. "I got you, let's go somewhere else to get some air in our brains."
"Yeah, you're right, and I think we should stick together like this more often.
Atleast we can console ourselves Incase anything happens."
And they both laughed as they walked out.
The three demons sat in their class. They had a special class designed for them asides the general class. It had all the top computer games in them and other facilities to just make the room perfect.
"Hey dudes, mom is inviting us over for dinner." Jeffrey said pinging his phone.
"Really? I'm sure mama's gonna have the table filled." Aiden said as he dropped the glass of wine he had.
"Come on, let's get outta here." Jeffrey said as he stood up and picked his jacket from a chair and the three walked out of their class.
Noise arose everywhere as the students saw the three of them.
"Ahhhhh!!" A girl screamed at the sight of them.
"The rocking waves are here.." Another said and fainted.
"I love you."
"OMG they are so handsome, I could eat them raw."
More comments kept coming as they walked with pride to their sports car. It was hard to drive amidst the crowd but their good lovers paved way for them. Even at such a young age, their popularity was top notch.
The cars drove to a mansion with a fountain before it. They came out of their cars and threw the keys to their bodyguards as they walked into their mansion.
"Welcome young master."
"Welcome young master."
All the guards and maids bowed as they came across them.
"Good day Mr Jeffrey, Welcome home." Vincent, his personal bodyguard bowed and greeted. He was the only one permitted to even mention his name.
"Thanks Vincent, tell Mom we are home already."
"Yes Mr Jeffrey" He said and walked out while they entered their very gigantic room.
"Feels good to be home." Evan said as he fell on the bed and heaved a sigh.
"Get out you." Jeffrey ordered a maid that was dusting the table.
"Yes young master." she bowed and left.
"That was heartbreaking. " Aiden said and they all giggled.
At school. 3:00pm
The school was over, Vanessa and Sapphire sat waiting for the driver.
"Vanessa your dad is here for you today." Someone said and passed them.
"My dad, my dad!" She yelled.
"Yes your dad! Why do you always yell whenever he comes to get you."
"Nothing! Bye!" She said as she stood up, leaving, holding unto her bag.
" Wait, I'll walk you to the car." Sapphire said running up to Vanessa
"No!"
"Why, I always do that everyday, but when it comes to your dad you tell me not..."
"Please, I'm begging you." Vanessa interrupted as she walked out on Sapphire who just stared at her. Sapphire walked and stood at a corner as she watched Vanessa walk to her dad and embrace him. She enhanced her hearing with her powers. She has never done this before, eaves dropping on her was not something she would do. But she needed answers as to why Vanessa always stops her from seeing her dad, for the first time in their friendship.
"Hey darling how are you? And how was school today?"
"Never....better! Never better yes, never better."
"Why do you speak as though you aren't sure of what you're saying." Scott said looking at his daughter with confusion.
"I've never been sure dad."
"Okay, so how's your best friend?"
"Best friend? Oh! Best friend! Stacy! Stacy, she's fine."
"How come I've never seen you with her even once?"
"She is always busy and I understand her since I understand her schedules. As an understanding friend, I should bear with her."
"That's right, I love that."
Her dad opened the door for her even though they were bodyguards to do that. He never jokes with his darling daughter. Unfortunately, Stacy Zoey and Tatiana bypassed them.
"How come you didn't say hello and they didn't either? There was no form of familiarity between you both."
"Well..dad...." She stuttered. "We actually had a quarrel today."
"Oh! Is that why you were acting weird on how your day went today."
"Yes dad, exactly." Vanessa said as she heaved a sigh.
"Maybe I should talk to her. Sta..."
"Dad no!" She interrupted. "She would get angrier if you do that, I'm the only one that knows how to handle her. We'll get back together by tomorrow. Trust me."
"Okay! Let's go then." He said and opened the door and Vanessa entered, while he walked to the other side.
"Stacy?" Sapphire thought. "That means, Vanessa's dad doesn't approve of our relationship. Why has she been lieing to me." Tears welled her hers as she began walking home in an opposite path from where their car took.
•••••
Sapphire was on her bed as she looked at the ceiling. She waved her hands to the roof and it became invisible revealing the stars in the sky as she hummed a song. It was her favorite song composed by her uncle. It always helps her relax.
The table was filed and all that could be heard were sounds of cutleries. A maid tried to pour juice into a glass and it mistakenly spilled on Jeffrey.
"I'm sorry young master, I'm sorry." She cried as she cleaned his clothes with her scarf.
"What the hell! What is such a disgusting person doing here? You are fired!" He said and stood up. "Now I have to go change." He said and left.
The girl still knelt down crying.
"We are sorry miss, you wouldn't have been so clumsy." Aiden said and smirked, but Evan was just apathetic as he looked at the girl. She stood up and was about to pass Evan when he stretched out his hand which had a handkerchief with his name printed on it. She bowed and took it and left.
"Ouch! Such a nice handkerchief." Aiden said while Evan let out a sly smile. Evan always had swayed emotions.
No one could predict if he was an introvert or extrovert, sometimes he suddenly turns cold with no reason. Jeffrey returned as he took his seat.
"Mom sure put a lot of effort in putting this together." Evan said and smiled. They referred to each of their mothers as mom that it was hard to tell who their real mom was.
"Hey, I'm making an arrangement for us to present at The Aries concert."
"No way! The aries concert?! The same one were top celebrity singers are invited to sing as well?" Aiden asked
"That's the one." Jeffrey answered
"That would be nice and it will take our music career to the next level." Evan added.
"You can say that again. The girls will be so happy to hear this!" Aiden said.
"If you need any help with anything,. I'm right here." Evan said.
"Me too."
"Don't worry guys, I got this."
Immediately Jeffrey's mom stepped in.
"Look at my boys!" She exclaimed seeing the boys on the table.
"Hey Mom!" They all choused as they stood up and went to hug her placing pegs on her cheeks as she placed pegs on theirs.
"You all are looking so good." She said as she took a seat and they all sat.
"How's the meal? I specially cooked it with the help of some maids, it was a new recipe."
"Mom!" They all choused
"Hope you didn't get hurt." Evan said as he took her hand and examined it while the others observed from where they sat.
" I'm fine, besides, don't I have the liberty to cook in my house, especially for my boys?"
"Hearing you enter the kitchen scares me all the time and you know it Kiera." Jeffrey said. He always called his mother by her name whenever he was frustrated.
"Jeffrey?"
"Sorry mom."
"Don't worry mom I'll deal with him later." Aiden said while she chuckled.
"Speaking of the meal, mom, you are amazing, the meal is so tasty." Evan said as he stood up and placed a peg on her cheek.
"Awwwn! Thank you! Unlike Jeffrey and Aiden, questioning me about entering the kitchen."
"Your food is lovely."
"You are excellent mom."
"I love you." They both said at intervals while Kiera grinned widely satisfied.
"Thank you, thank you. Jeffrey, in two weeks I haven't seen you. You all are so grown that you barely come home. You either stay at a hotel or something, it's on rare occasions like this that I get to see you all, it's not fair."
"Sorry mom, we'll try make out more time from now on." Jeffrey said.
"And I heard you fired a maid?"
"Yes I did. She was clumsy."
And Kiera heaved a sigh.
Immediately Evan's phone vibrated. He picked it and saw it was a message from Henry his personal bodyguard. It read...
"Come home###"
"s**t!" He muttered to himself.
"Is everything okay?" Aiden asked.
"Yeah everything is okay." He answered as he stood up and placed a peg on Kiera's cheeks. "I'd get going now mom."
"You sure everything is okay?" She asked.
"Yes." He answered leaving. He entered into his car and drove off.
•••••
A car drove speedily into a mansion Evan came out and hurried in. He heard the loud voice of his dad and the screaming voice of his mom. He ran in and bumped into Henry
"Where is she?! Where is she?!" He shouted.
"Her room." He answered and Evan hurried upstairs. He opened the door to his mom's room and saw her on the floor by the bed. Her hand was bleeding and his father stood besides her raising a vase against her.
"Dad!" He screamed as he pushed his dad away and the vase fell off his hand.
He rushed to his crying mom on the floor and tied her hands with a handkerchief to slow down the bleeding.
His dad was always like this. He always poured down his frustration on his wife and hit her whenever he liked. He filed a case against his father for domestic violence once, but he used his influence to shut the case. And even his mom still came out to testify in his favor that there was no such thing as domestic violence in her home
It was obvious she still had deep feelings for him despite all he's done to hurt her.
"You shouldn't be here, leave, this is between me and your father." Lucy, his mom whispered. "Leave before he looses it."
"I'm sorry. " He said as he stood up and held his dad by the collar and pushed him against the wall.
"You!!..." He screamed as he brought forth his hand to give his dad a punch.
"No! Evan don't. Just leave please! Please!" His mom screamed in tears and Evan's hand remained on the air as he boiled in anger. His dad smirked and threw him a punch. He staggered away and blood dropped to the floor from his mouth.
"How dare you!" Mr Tyler yelled as he held his son's collar.
"I am your father!" He said and threw him another punch.
"This is how you've raised him right?!" He pointed to his wife who shook her head continuously.
"Stupid son of a mother!" He yelled and threw him another punch and he staggered to the door.
"Please leave." His mom whispered with her hands together, she begged. Tears flowed from his eyes as he left and walked into his room in tears. He shut the door and leaned on it as he sat to the floor. He began hearing the screams of his mom and the shattering of glass.
"Ahhhhh! Ahhhhh!" He screamed continuously to shut out the voice of his mom out of his head. He began scattering his room in frustration. Being unable to safe his mother from his dad made him feel like a weakling and coward. Who would have believed that such a good man in the eyes of the outside world would be such a coward in his home to beat his wife. He staggered and fell to the floor helpless. He stretched his hand to his drawer and took a book with a pen lieing besides it. He stood up, took his earphone and guitar and went for the rooftop that was the only place he stayed whenever such happened to cool his head. He composed songs there to burn time. His mom always left him feeling this way. Always telling him to leave and he always obeyed her no matter what. Asides his mom stopping him, he didn't know if he was brave enough to stop or confront his dad. He wrote on his book as he placed it on his knees with his knees up. Tears dropped on his book continuously. He leaned on the wall and he shut his eyes, soon he slept off.
