Sapphire opened the door as they entered the very quiet room.
"Good day everyone." Vanessa greeted as they both stood before the board members. Being the outspoken one, she took the speech.
"My name is Vanessa Scott and with me is my partner, Sapphire Davis." Vanessa gestured to Sapphire and she began giving out the A4 papers she had with her.
"Boldly written above those papers is Justice Department. And below that, are goals and objectives of this department. Justice department is what we are here for." She paused a bit to ensure she had everyone's undivided attention.
"We all are aware of the meaning of the word Justice, but for the record I'd like to define. Justice is the state of being just or fair. In our world today, Justice exist to keep the peace and to ensure a better relationship between us humans it is something that happens in our everyday life but Edville has been denied of such priviledge which wasn't meant to be a privilege in the first place but a right. Justice is everyone's right even teachers and students shouldn't be denied of such course we also are the people."
Hearing Justice has been denied the people of Edville, ignited a look in everyone's eyes that Vanessa couldn't understand and she didn't know if she said the wrong thing. At this point she lost focus.
"The....some...stud...some...stud..."
"Some students in Edville have made themselves invisible. Due to some reasons. Fear and bully." Sapphire came in. She understood the dilemma Vanessa was, she was not able to understand the expression on everyone's face, but she could. It was a look of confusion. It was obvious the board members were oblivious to what was actually going on in Edville.
"If you don't mind Mr Chris.." Sapphire said as she pointed to a member of the board. "There is a particular student who has won the award of the most intelligent student in Edville please can you remember the persons name?"
"Umm... that should be Sapphire Da..." He paused as he stared at Sapphire recalling what she was introduced as.
"Yes I am Sapphire Davis. The most intelligent student in school. I don't want to use this to create hype for myself before you all, but I wanna use it as an illustration. A student like me with such legacy should be like the most popular student in school but even the board members remember the name but not the face. I am literally invisible. Why because, even such a student is not even spared from bully. This has eaten us up that many students hide themselves in their shells due to fear, hiding their potentials and talents. Who said the members of Rocking Wave are the most talented students in music class, Who said Jeffrey Logan is the most talented basketball player or athlete, their are still a lot of students who can be as good as he is, but fear has put a lot of students in their shells. The last time I checked, the school is not just meant to build the intellect of students but also build them up socially and morally. If they don't fufill their responsibilities properly, then why should it be called a school." Sapphire paused a bit as she examined the look on everyone's face and loved the outcome she got.
"We all know our enemy school, Kreisten high. They are Edville's rival in literally everything. Music competitions, Olympics to mention but a few. Sometimes they do a lot of things to we students in Edville that if the management doesn't come in, they just get away with it. There should be someone to stand for us both outside and inside Edville, someone who can stand as a mediator between the management and students. Someone who would stop the bully, the fears and bring justice. Let Edville be the school for everyone, the introverts and extroverts, the weak and the strong, the millionaires and billionaires, the princesses and the queens. Yes, being a school for the rich, bully is something that can't be absent because amidst the rich is a quest for power, but it can be brought to a minimum as nobody would be stepped on, making Edville that dream school for every teenager. We need the Justice department but we can't do that without your help. Let us... make the Justice department."
Immediately everyone began punching their votes on the buttons before them on the table.
"No way." Vanessa muttered to herself. Sapphire was always a shy person. Seeing her so outspoken kept her amazed.
The result appeared on the screen eight against two. Out of ten members of the board, eight voted for them while two were against them. They both smiled as they stared at each other. When the head of the board, Mr Jerry stood up.
"Seeing such confidence coming from a student, I don't think you should be denied of getting such an opportunity. You've been given permission to run the Justice department with the outcome of the votes. I guess only students can understand what they feel because they are all in the same world which us teachers may not be able to feel or understand because we are not in the same world. There should be a mediator to guide us so we also don't pass judgements that will also hurt the students that has been kept under our custody. So the Justice department has been given the right to run. But, you have not been given independence yet. We'll have to observe you to see your abilities and ensure you don't abuse the power you possess. I hope I have spoken your minds." Mr Jerry asked the other board members to ensure he carried them along and they all nodded.
"Till then, I choose to reserve my comments. You can take the empty hall after the science laboratory. Go and make us proud." Mr Jerry concluded.
"Thank you Mr Jerry, thank you everyone, we won't let you down. We promise." Vanessa said smiling to them as they all left one by one except for Mr Matthew who stood back.
"You were both amazing back there. Always remember one thing, there is nothing like the word from heart. That's the only word that can relate to someone else's heart. You almost lost it back there Vanessa but all thanks to your friend Sapphire who spoke from her heart. You both should always stick to each other. Because you do great things when you are together."
"Thank you Mr Matthew. I will learn from now on to speak with the words of my heart. And about my best friend, I've planned to stick to her for a life time." Vanessa said and they both giggled.
"And thanks once again, we wouldn't have pulled that off without your help." Sapphire added.
"No, you pulled that of yourself, I was merely a catalyst. Keep it up both of you and soon, you won't just be giants in Edville, but the entire world." He concluded as he walked out.
Sapphire and Vanessa both smiled as their eyes followed him till he walked out of the door.
"Ahhhhh!" They both screamed jumping happily.
"We did it!" They exclaimed as they embraced each other.
"I can't believe it! You really surprised me out there. I haven't seen that part of you before, you were like a tigress!" Vanessa said.
"Well, I had to help a friend."
"Awwwn! Look at how you are acting so sweet. Well..." Vanessa said lunching into her bag as she brought out a paper boldly written on it was Justice department.
"Now who wants to put this up?!"
"I do!" Sapphire yelled as they both walked out of the meeting room.
"Vanessa pasted the paper on the door as Sapphire opened the door while they both walked in.
"This is the place. It feels like a dream. A dream come true. And you made that dream come true Sapphire, thanks."
"There you go again, we did it." Sapphire said as she took Vanessa's hands. "Together."
"Together." Vanessa agreed.
The bell rang.
"Well instead of being so emotional, can we go get some food, I'm famished."
"Queen mother is gonna look for me even if I'm standing by her side because I'll be so fat after I eat today beyond recognition." And they both laughed while they walked out to the dining hall.
