We all left the court. On seeing her brother, Matilda ran and embraced him bursting into tears.
"It's okay, it's okay." He consoled and gripped her tightly. Her younger brother and sister tapped her. She eased herself off her brother and looked at her dad. He stared at her and walked away with her mom.
"Don't worry, he'll come around. Where did you stay last night? I couldn't reach you, dad didn't let us contact you." Abraham added.
"I know, I stayed at Sapphire's house."
"The girl from the Justice department?" Her little brother asked.
"Yes." she nodded.
"Hey daughter, how are you." Matilda's nanny said and embraced her.
"I'm fine nanny." Matilda said and eased herself off her nanny's grip.
"You are such a brave girl, I'm proud of you." Nanny pecked Matilda on the forehead.
"Thanks nanny."
"Hey mom, dad!" I said and embraced the both of them.
"Look at my brave amazing princess!" My dad praised and ran a thousand kisses on me after our embrace, I've never felt so proud of myself in my entire life.
"You killed it baby girl!" My mom said grinning widely, acting like a child.
"I'm so proud of you, you know, you can also make a good lawyer." My dad added and we all burst into laughter.
"Vanessa, come here!" Mrs Scott said with her arms open and Vanessa slipped into her mom's arms.
"You are amazing. All hail to our great princess!" Mrs Scott said and they both laughed.
"Mom, where is dad?" Vanessa asked.
"Um.. um.. your... your dad is around! Look, Matilda is beckoning to you!" Her mom pointed out.
"Okay mom, I'll get going now." Vanessa said and left.
"We should get going now." Mary advised. We all entered the Limousine that came to fetch us. Camera lights kept flashing and the reporters kept asking us questions but we didn't answer any. I saw Regina enter a car with the police, I could guess she was going to the police station for the drug test. I smiled and entered the car.
Justice department.
1:00pm.
"Thank you so much attorney." Matilda said and wiped her tears.
"Don't thank me, thank My Lady here and your friend Sapphire, they really have a big heart." She said and arranged some files putting them in her bag.
"By the way. I want to rebuke you for what you did in court today. Why didn't you tell me you had a relationship with Regina, what if something went wrong than it turned out."
"I'm sorry, I didn't think it was necessary."
"Well never repeat that again, just in case of the future." She advised.
"I understand."
"We'll meet here tomorrow before we leave for the court. Till then." She said and took her leave.
Matilda took a seat I could feel her feet tremble. I placed my hands on her shoulder to calm her down.
"It's okay Matilda."
"I just can't believe it, I finally feel vindicated. Even when judgement hasn't been passed yet, I feel free, happy... I don't even know what to say." Matilda said as tears flowed down her cheeks.
"I can never thank the both of you enough."
"You don't have to, maybe you can take us on a treat when your case is over."
Vanessa said and we all laughed.
"Sure we will." Matilda added smiling as she wiped her tears. Just then, Vanessa's phone rang and she put it by her ears.
"Hello...Sure." She said hanging up.
"It's my dad, he's waiting outside for me. I should get going." She said and looked at me.
"Bye."
"Bye." We both chorused as we watched her leave.
Silence fell. Matilda took her phone and began pinging.
"Oh my gosh! Look what everyone is saying on the students platform." Matilda said and I hurried to her side.
"OMG! This Justice department is really amazing than I thought it would be!"
"Did you guys see how Sapphire ordered attorney Roberto for an apology?! I'm falling in love with that girl!"
"Who would have believed Regina would be so disgusting!"
"Yeah, she doesn't even deserve to go to a prison, that place is too good for her. They should just bring her to my house so I could tie her to my dog's chain!"
"Yeah, call me if you need more chains."
"All hail the princess of England, all hail our powerful goddess Sapphire!"
"All hail!"
"I'm sure you will all win the case tomorrow, I wish you good luck."
"Yes, many good luck wishes."
"I actually think I should apologise to Matilda, at a point I thought she was the bad one here."
"That's true. I'm sorry Matilda."
"Please forgive us."
"This is all Regina's fault! Go to hell Regina."
"I wish you would die before tomorrows case."
"This is great. Everyone one is singing the praises of your department! You deserve it" Matilda said after reading some of the comments. The comments where unending, it would take eternity to read them all.
I just smiled. Just then the door opened, it was Abraham, behind him was their dad.
"Dad." Matilda said and stood up.
"Dad I'm sorry, I didn't do..." Immediately, her dad embraced her and she burst into tears.
"I know, I know." He said and stroked her hair.
"I'm sorry." He gently pulled her away.
"I'm sorry for shouting at you that night, I'm sorry for sending you away, I'm sorry for being stupid, I'm sorry for everything honey! Please, come home."
Matilda nodded her head severally crying. Her dad wiped her tears with his thumb. And then held her around her shoulders. He turned around and looked at me standing.
"Thank you."
"I hope you can be a better father."
"I will." He replied and walked out with Matilda while Abraham followed.
I took a seat and shut my eyes when I heard the door sound. I opened it to see Evan.
"Hey." He said with his hands at his back as he slowly walked towards me.
"Hey! Evan." I said and sat up.
"What do you have behind you?" I asked.
"Glitter!" He said bringing his hand forward and glitter spread all over me.
"Oh my God! Evan!" I said laughing.
"Congratulations!" He said and took the seat before me.
"Thank you."
"I told you you'd win."
"Yeah, but we haven't won yet."
"Says who? You guys already have the publics support and attention. The news of you and Vanessa is on every news headline. Now, it will be hard to manipulate judgement in such a case."
"I hope so."
"You were amazing back there."
"You think so? I didn't even do anything! I just sat before a laptop."
"No, not that. The way you ordered attorney Roberto! That's what caught everyone's attention. Everyone is talking about how amazing you were. You have made your way into being a celebrity Sapphire."
He said so softly looking into my eyes I turned my face trying to avoid his gaze as I smiled.
"Look." He said with his phone before my face.
"I caused an uproar on the students page by commenting."
"Sapphire was the coolest person in court today." I read smiling while he took his phone after I was done reading.
"So, since I was the first person to wish you good luck and also a good fan, don't you think I should be the first to get an autograph?!" He said bringing out a pen. I smiled and took the pen while he raised his arm to me showing me his wrist.
"Right here?"
"Hmmm." He nodded.
"I placed my left hand under his and signed on his wrist. I really felt cool signing an autograph. My first autograph.
"Thank you." I said returning the pen.
"For what?" He asked and took the pen.
"For being good to me."
He smiled.
"I should also tell you thank you."
"For what?" I asked.
"I always feel happy, free, satisfied and stronger whenever I see you. Seeing you makes me forget things I don't want to remember. And also, I smile uncontrollably whenever I'm around you."
He said and grinned and I couldn't help but smile watching him. He was pure, loving, calm, gentle open minded, making me wonder why I referred to him as a demon.
"Don't ever change, whatever makes me feel this way whenever I'm around you, don't ever change it."
"I'll try. And I will like to say, we say lots of thank you's to each other lately."
"Yeah, you are right." He said and we both chuckled.
Immediately the bell rang.
"That's the bell, I should get going." He said and got up to his feet.
"Bye."
"Hmm." I nodded as I watched him leave letting out a smile.

Laying on my bed with my back and my hands under my head I stared at the ceiling. I escaped my parents torture they kept talking about how popular I have become.
"Oh my gosh! AZ! the rockstar commented on Twitter!"
"Honey have you seen the number of people that watched the case online? 12billion!"
"Everyone is calling Sapphire the 21st century wonder woman!"
"Our baby is popular!"
I could still hear their conversations from upstairs but I blocked them out.
"Valerie, do you think everything is gonna be okay between me and Vanessa? I'm scared, I might lose her and I've become so addicted to having her around, what do I do?" I said as tears stained my cheeks. Valerie walked to me and wiped my face with her fur. She was so skilled that even her claws didn't hurt my face. My lips curved into a smile, she understood how I was feeling. I was proud of her.
"Thanks Valerie." I said and stroked her softly. "Come on, it's time to sleep."

Vanessa's mansion
"Dad, I'm sorry." Vanessa apologized.
"Sorry? Did you just say sorry? I'm disappointed in you Vanessa and your sorry, will not do anything about that. How would you have a middle class girl as your best friend!"
"Dad, I don't care if she is low class, middle class or whatever. What I cherish the most is how we care and watch out for ourselves. You are always the one who says you are proud about how far I've improved in my studies, I mean I was literally a dummy and you know it! But all thanks to Sapphire, she brought me out of there. And all thanks to her again, she made a name for me today and you are telling me to just ditch her? No!"
"Really?" Scott added and scoffed.
"So I'm now a fool huh? All the while, you made me believe that Stacy was your best friend, you lied to me!"
"I'm sorry dad, I had no other option."
"You know you sound so selfish right now."
"What do you mean dad?"
"What do I mean? Okay this is what I mean. I've always provided you with all you needed since you were a kid, I loved and cherished you and I still now, but there was only one thing I asked for, be
friends with Stacy, parents develop relationships a lot because of their kids. In a way you can convince her to convince her dad to strike a partnership with our company but you refused and you lied to me, you made me feel like a fool."
"I'm sorry dad." She said in tears.
"You should have told me you couldn't do it than lie to me."
"Dad I'm sorry."
"You know what?" He said and shut his eyes clenching his teeth.
"You have to choose who is more important to you. Me or Sapphire."
"Dad don't do this!"
"I've told you severally to stop being friends with that girl but you fell deaf ears. Now, not just us but the whole world knows that such a caliber of person is the almighty crowned princesses best friend."
"But dad..."
"Goodnight." He concluded and left for upstairs.
"Dad hold on! Dad!" She called after her dad as she followed him but he banged the door behind him. Vanessa leaned against the door with her back and went down sitting on the bare floor. She cried and begged her dad to open the door. Her mom walked up to her and crouched to her height.
"Mom, he doesn't want to open the door for me."
"Don't worry, let him calm down, he'll come around. Okay?" She said and hugged her tightly while Vanessa cried over her shoulders.

9:00am.
Courtroom.
I sat down as I looked at Vanessa hoping she would spare me a glance but she didn't. I knew something was wrong. She didn't come to school despite the fact that we agreed to meet at our department.
"I hereby decree that Regina be sentenced to two years imprisonment without bail." The judges voice rang in the hall, calling me out if my thoughts.
"Court!' The court clerk ordered and we all stood after the judge.
Matilda's family embraced each other filled with joy. Everyone began leaving the hall. I wanted to walk to Vanessa who was already leaving when her dad wrapped his arms around her shoulders and gave me a don't come any closer stare. Tears filled my eyes as I blinked my eyes to fight it, I needed a distraction. Mrs Fernando.
"Mrs Fernando, I just wanted to thank you for your support, we wouldn't have done this without you." I said, we shook hands.
"It's my pleasure. By the way have you ever considered studying law?" She asked as I loosed my grip of her hand.
"No attorney, why?"
"You should consider it, you'll make a good lawyer."
"I will think about it."
A guard whispered something to her ears and she nodded.
"I'll take my leave now, take care."
"Thank you."
I watched her leave. Suddenly, I felt someone's arms around my neck. It was Matildas. Her hug was too tight I could barely breathe.
"Thank you for bringing me justice, thanks for believing in me, thanks for the Justice department, thanks for everything." She said in tears.
The reporters kept taking shots.
"Hey, this is not necessary, stop crying." This human never stops crying. Sometimes, I wondered if tears doesn't get exhausted in her eyes. I stroked her hair and gently pushed her away.
"We did this together, always remember that."
"Thanks Mr Davis for taking care of my daughter when she was under your care." Matilda's dad said shaking Davis hands.
"No, don't mention, anyone would have done that In my place."
"I still appreciate."
"You are welcome."
"Congratulations!" Brenda said and embraced Matilda's mom.
"Thank you!" Matilda's mom replied as they released each other.
"I want to say a good thank you to you."
"For what? Don't thank me, thank Sapphire and her friend."
"Still, she wouldn't have been able to help Matilda if you didn't allow her. So thank you."
"It's Brenda and you are welcome."
"Brenda! I'm Jessica."
"I know!" Brenda said and they both laughed.
"Hey, 21st century wonder woman or should I say 21st century most beautiful? Because they missed that part." He said and took my hands kissing my knuckles.
"Abramson! stop it!" Matilda yelled and he grinned letting go of me.
"This Is Abramson my younger brother and Maria my sister, the youngest."
"Hi!" Maria waved shyly.
"Hi! You really have good looking siblings." I admitted.
"Yah, tell her." Abramson added.
"No way, they are annoying."
And we all laughed.
