A G-Wagon stopped before a gigantic building. Boldly written on it was Edville High School. Sapphire stepped out of the car and stood staring at the building before her. "it's gonna be okay." Davis voice came ringing cutting Sapphire from her hallucinations. "I'm scared." She said in a shaky voice and embraced her dad. "Awwwn look at my princess all acting like a kid in kindergarten." Davis said as he rubbed her hair before pulling her out of his embrace. With his hands on her shoulder, he squatted to her height. "It's alright to be scared, but don't let the fear overwhelm you. You are stronger than you think Sapphire, but you don't just want to realize that fact. And when you do, you'll see the world from a different perspective.. Above all, always remember to stand up for yourself and not let anyone bully you." "I will always remember to stand up for myself and not let anyone bully me." Sapphire repeated although totally unsure of everything she said "Now that's the fighting spirit! Don't let your guard down and go make I and your mom proud." "Thanks a lot dad." "Anything for my princess. Come on! Enough of the emotional talks, get going already." Sapphire smiled and began walking in. After a while, she turned and saw her dad still standing watching her. "I love you Dad." Sapphire said and turned back entering her school. Davis obviously didn't hear her, but he was a good lip reader, so he knew what Sapphire said. He smiled to himself. "She's just as pure and beautiful as her mother." He thought as he he walked back to his car and drove off. Cheers and excitements filled the atmosphere. Guy hugs, female squeals from seeing old friends, all forms of handshakes and kisses were the scenes before me. I walked in. Edville High is a school for rich kids. And when I said rich kids, I meant rich kids with billionaires and multi millionaire parents. I didn't fall into any of this category. I won't say my parents were rich, but atleast we lived a comfortable life. Me coming to Edville High is because, my parents thinks it is the only school worthy of their precious only daughter. So despite how expensive their fees were, they still try to meet up. I'm not the social type and don't have much friends. All my Life at Edville has been so quiet. I mean atleast it would have been but for.... "Sapphire!!!." A voice screamed from behind. "Vanessa Scott." Sapphire thought. She turned around to see Vanessa running towards her with her arms open wide. She definitely had to gain stamina for what was coming for her. Sapphire staggered a bit but gained balance afterwards. All that could be heard were girly laughs. Vanessa Scott has been my friend ever since my first grade. She is the one who makes my quiet world noisy, and I like it. Did I just say I liked it? I love it! School would have been hell without her, she always came in handy during emergency situations. And that you would find out yourself. "I missed you! I mean like crazy! Crazy! Crazy!!" Vanessa said as she loosed Sapphire off her grip. "I missed you too! And I don't know if I'm the only one who noticed that you grew more beau-ti-ful...ler. Sapphire made the word 'beautiful' sound more extensive and funny. "There you go again miss hilarious, you're making me blush!" Vanessa said acting like a kid who just got a peck from her crush. "Come on let's go to class." She said and took Sapphire hands to class. Class? Or hell. Everywhere was so noisy and rowdy. The excitement of students coming to school was pretty overwhelming. We took our seats in front. That has been I and Vanessa's position over the years. In front. "Ugghh, school, the only prison one gets to pay for, here we are again..." Vanessa said as she turned to Sapphire. "Get ready Sapphire I'm gonna beat you for the most intelligent student in school this year." Sapphire has always received the award of the most intelligent student in the whole school. It was always her place no one could beat her for it. "Really? I'll be glad to see you try." Sapphire said as she smiled. "Hmmph like I have the brains. I still wonder how you do that. Not just in our class but the entire Edville!" "Who says you don't have the brains. Maybe just have less fun and read more." "I'm not sure of how much fun I can sacrifice, but I'll try hard to read more." When I and Vanessa met, she could probably be called a dummy. But she improved drastically afterwards. Her place was sixth place. If not sixth then, she'd come fifth in class. I wanted her to improve more after all, she is the best friend to the most intelligent student in Edville. But she was satisfied with it. I couldn't force her, atleast I'm glad of how far she's come. "OMG! Sapphire! Really?" "What?" "I thought you would change a little bit after our vacation." Vanessa complained. "Change what?" "Your hair style and the glasses. Must you pour your hair to cover half of your face?" "Almost half of my face." "There is no difference okay!" Vanessa said and took off Sapphires glasses pushing her hair behind her ears. "There! the most beautiful girl. Those deep blue eyes, your proud nose. The most perfectly created stained pink lips, the blonde hair. Aggh! you know there are only about 3 to 4 percent of people in the world I guess that have natural blonde hair! And not just blonde, the perfect one. Soft, long....Geez! I'm short of words. All I know, I sometimes find myself falling for...." "Okay! That's enough thank you for the compliment." Sapphire interrupted removing Vanessa's hands from behind her ears and pouring her hair back. "Asides from the fact that my dad helps me do my hair, I also love my hair being poured that way. Reasons best known to me!" "What reasons? That's the same thing you've been saying over the years." "Okay!" Sapphire said and looked around as though trying to ensure no one was listening. "No one Will ever hear you in this very noisy class." And Sapphire beckoned on Vanessa to come closer. "My reason is, sometimes when the breeze blows, I feel like it's gonna blow my face away. So my hair, is my perfect shield." Vanessa's held fell. "I should have expected something so weird from the beginning. I wonder why I'm so surprised..." "You know, you would have been another most 'something' of Edville High, and that would have been the most beautiful female in Edville." "Hey! That's someones place. Don't forget, Stacy Martins." "No, don't mistake it, the most pretty female in Edville, not the most beautiful! She doesn't even deserve that! She's supposed to be maybe the cutest not pretty! She just get those awards in honor of her father." Vanessa said. It was obvious she had a hidden hatred for this Stacy Martins. "Whatever. You talk about other people being beautiful, but you forget about yourself. You could also be the most beautiful in Edville." Vanessa blushed. "I'll know when I get there." Immediately there were lots of screams outside. "What's going on?" Sapphire asked what was obviously a rhetorical question. The door opened revealing Stacy Martins and her two friends. "Speaking of the devil, here she comes." Vanessa said in irritation. "She is definitely pretty." Sapphire said almost lost. "Yeah, maybe a little." Vanessa finally admitted. Looking at the figure before her, it was obvious. Both male and female, all eyes fell on Stacy as she walked in to take a seat. The boys in the class cheered as she took her seat. "wait..." Sapphire said and turned to Vanessa "Are we going to be in the same class?" Vanessa shrugged her shoulders. Immediately the bell rang. Everyone took their positions and In a few seconds, the class was as quiet as a grave yard. "The door opened. Our mathematics teacher Mr Matthew, the most handsome teacher in the entire school walked in. Both teachers and students crushed on him. I could already feel the steam rising from such students. How perfect is it that Mr Matthew happened to be the first teacher they cast their eyes on. Good day class!" "Good day Mr Matthew." The class chorused. "I must confess, you all are looking good." The class made an uproar of joy. Hearing this come from Mr Matthew was delighting. Sorry when I said the class, I should have been specific. The girls! Some even thought he was talking directly to them. "I can see Matilda, Sophia, Jack, Jackson, Luke, Stacy, and her the two friends Zoey and Tatiana. Haah!" He exhaled. It's feels so nice to recall some of your names." A hand was raised. "Yes Matilda." "Well Sir, since you came into our class it's all been showers of compliments, and it wouldn't hurt if we returned back. I don't know how you took care of yourself over our vacation, because you're looking more handsome!" There was an uproar once again. The class definitely concurred. Mr Matthew grinned revealing his awesome dentition. Gush! This man was perfect! "Thank you, thank you, that's enough." He said softly and silence fell. Of course no one would love to offend him. "In regards to what you said Matilda, it's always good to keep it charming right?" The class clapped and screamed in excitement again. "That's enough! That's enough." Matthew intervened not letting the students blow things out of proportion. And there was total silence. Mr Matthew brought forth his right hand that has been behind him all the while. On his hand was a tablet with Edville High logo on it. Everyone could guess what he was here for, and tension rose. In Edville High, each class has three arms. First, second and third arm. The first arm, for only super intelligent students. And this has been I and Vanessa's place since we met in school. The second arm, is more like an extension of the first. Outstanding students were here too, but not compared to the first. The third arm possesses smart students too, but ones who didn't love giving their brains too much work load. Mr Matthew could feel the tension rising in class. He predicted this moment would come. Students are always bound to be happy and full of excitement on their return to school but afterwards, tension and fear follows. it was for this reason that he has been chatty with them to help them loosen up and blend back into the school environment, school life! "Hey! There's nothing to be nervous or tensed about. Just know that whatever arm you fall into calls for the same thing, hard work. You fall into the third arm so you could work harder to get to the second arm. You fall into the second arm so you could work harder to be fit for the first arm. And para-venture you fall into the first arm, it also calls for hard work to become top in class or maybe become the most intelligent student in school like my Sapphire." Matthew said and pointed to Sapphire. Sapphire could feel her cheeks flush red. "So, are we all good?" "All good!" The class chorused. Mr Matthew looked at them to confirm. His speech did make an impact. The fears vanished and all that was left were eagerness and excitement in everyone's eyes. He nodded his head in satisfaction. "Okay!.." He said running his eyes through the information on the tablet. "Stacy, Zoey and Tatiana, you are in the right place, this is your new arm." What?! Stacy and her friends in first arm? They don't have the brains to survive here! Their place has always been in the second or third arm! I'm still yet to understand what is going on in Edville." Sapphire thought and turned to Vanessa. It was obvious with the look on her face that they were both thinking the same thing. "Luke, Gori and Jackson, to the third arm please?" He said and the the trio stood up with their bags. Immediately there was an applause. Definitely not to embarrass them but to cheer them up. "Good luck!" "And always remember hard work." "We love you!" Comments kept coming until they left the class. "Get up Matilda and Joshua, you both should swap seats." "Is that necessary?" Matilda asked getting up with her bag. "Yes it is Matilda, and that is your seat forever and ever till you leave here. And the same applies to everyone. Understood?" "Yes sir!!" Everyone chorused. "Good." He said looking into the tablet. "I guess I am done." He said and closed the tablet with it's pouch. "No you are not! What about the vacant seats?" Vanessa asked with her forehead creased. "Oh! Quick reminder Vanessa, thank you so much. You all are gonna be having some friends in your midst. I'm sure all of you will be delighted." The door immediately opened and all eyes fell on it in anticipation. Seeing them, all the girls began screaming in excitement including Stacy! "The three demons." Sapphire heard Vanessa mutter. "No way. This can't be happening." Sapphire said and swallowed hard.
