Ellie:
After running into Hannah and Candace, I went into the office set up, and have worked Wednesday through Friday, with most of my house set up.
It's now Saturday, and I have spent the day gardening trying to shake last night's dream of Bubbie off, and hoping to see him. His amber eyes, some how draw me in and remind me of Mr. James. Its weird, and I think it's part of the people with drawls. Thankfully, tonight I have plans with Hannah and Candace, whom I am becoming close with, as we have met up at the Jame's Cafe near where we first met, and have talked constantly via text and social media. They are out going where I am shy, but just as nerdy. It's great, but not quite the level I am at with Ana, well I mean she is my sister.
I picked up some marigolds, lilies and hyacinths from the McCreary Flower Farm on the way home from work yesterday in anticipation of the physical labors of today. Suddenly i hear a honking turning up my street, which has only my house hidden behind the enchanting forest, and only found due to the barely there dirt road leading to the water my house is near and a brief clearing.
The driver of the red chevy truck cruising up to my house is a man appearing to be in his forties, his kids I assume, and wife at about my age.
Within a few minutes at 35 mph, he stops close enough to me, and they step out of the car.
"Howdy, how can I help y'all?" I start.
The wife...? explains, "Hello dear, I am Anna Grace, this is my husband John, and our kids Philip Joe, and Tanya Lynn. We live just off this road on Oak Way, with our little farm. We heard you had moved in through the community page and wanted to give you a neighborly welcome."
"Oh welcome anytime! Sorry i am muddy right now, I went to the McCreary Farm and was trying to make my outside of the house presentable now that I finally did the inside. Please come in, I have some sweet tea and lemonade from Allya's, I haven't had time to stop at the market but I can see what I have." I gesture for them to follow me up to the house while replying.
"Honestly don't worry yourself child we brought some food for a brunch welcome, so no worries! Trust me, John and I know what it's like to be just settling down in a barely one stoplight town with low funds." Anna Grace adds as I help her get the food and go up to the house.
Eventually we reach the dining room and Anna and I get everyone settled around my wooden table set up, and the n we all bow our heads to say grace. We eat and make polite conversation, with chuckles here and there when the kids begin to chime in. John offers me help setting up but I tell him not to worry himself, which leads to six year old Phil, and 40-something year old John going back to their farm to get equipment to help me and me just left there thanking him for his kindness. Meanwhile, Tanya helps Anna and I set up outside and we begin to finish up the flowers I had begun planting when they arrived.
A few hours later, Anna and I are playing Hide and Seek with Tanya, having finished gardening, and John and Phil are working on helping me fix somethings round the house and outside. While trying to find Tanya and Anna, I see Bubbie and I start to run towards him, and then I trip, fall on my face, and John helps me up to which Bubbie looks hurt, growls and then runs away. How odd, and why do I feel ... guilt in my chest?
Soon after the incident, I walk the Wilks back to the truck, thank them, and go inside to relax and then prep for my night out.
