Ellie: Candy and Hans pick me up and we arrive an hour later at Archie's. Right away I am bombarded with friendly faces of all ages, weathered by the Southern Sun. I quickly hit is off with them all, trying to memorize and internalize all that they say. From the Charlie's, Baker's, Smith's, to even Archie himself and the history of the diner, all fascinating but equally overwhelming to take in at once. Despite this, I quickly get used to their company and the beautiful, rustic establishment that is such a huge cultural and historical piece of Bath, NC. Three hours pass, and we have all moved to the outdoor seating area were some have started playing football, and others mingling with Candy, Hans and I. I am trying not to get anxious but enjoy the night for everything it is in theory. After another hour I am completely drained, the kids have to go home for bedtime, so most call it a night. Well, except for the teenagers disappear for a "late night fishing trip." Instead of going to their house like originally planned, we all decide to just go to bed and meet u at someone's house after church tomorrow.
