Leaving brunch, well leaving him, unexpectedly brought a pang of guilt and unease to my chest. That's so weird. After thankfully getting the place, I head straight to the building and start setting up what I already have prepared for my one man show as of yet. Since the cafe we ate at was just a couple blocks from my building I walk there, and call Ana on the way. I miss her soo much, I hope I make some friends here too.
"You survived?" she immediately answers.
"Yes I did!" And I got the place! It's official, Us4 You is up and going to be running in Bath real soon!!!!" I exclaim so proud of my accomplishments.
"Oh girl! We knew you would get there. We love you and need t face time later when I am not working"
"Oh yeah, sorry about that"
"Never! I was really worried about you... and I think I missed you!"
"Ha, Ha! I have missed you too, now get back to work! Face time later?
"Sure thing at 8 sharp!"
Just as she hangs up, I bump right into two girls about my age and am so stunned that I drop my old worn purse and phone that I was just on.
Before I can fully recover the one to my left, with kinky curly black hair, luxurious chocolate skin, a star wars shirt, jeans, cowboy boots says, "Oops! You alright sweetheart? I can be so clumsy sometimes. My name is Hannah Marie, and this here is lovely neighbor Candace Breyers."
Then, the one on the right, who looks a little older than me and Hannah I guess, has the best brown wavy hair, piercing blue eyes and flannel dress. She then adds, "Yes that is Breyers like the ice cream! Who might you be darling? We know everyone seeing as our population is so low."
Finally gathering my bearings I say, "Hey! Y'all that was my fault I am so terribly sorry. I and Ellie Kelly from NY. Sorry I was talking to my family up North, what a horrid first impression I am sure..."
Candace cuts me off, to pull me into a strong bear hug and say, "Welcome! It is so nice to see a friendly and new face. I mean there is so many high school sweethearts and people that have been here since forever that sometimes new is nice. And Sugar, don't fret over it. If I could only count how many times I have walked into something while talking to family, I would be tickled pink." There southern accents are just so welcoming!
Meanwhile, Hannah helps me pick up my mess on the sidewalk of Butter Street, and Pancake Boulevard, yes those are the legit names.
Hannah adds, "Ain't that the truth, Candy! Where you live near Ellie? Maybe we live near you!?"
"I live over yonder on Willow Way." I reply
"Oh, so you're the one who bought the old Miller place! We live a couple back roads before yours on Lullaby Lane, the only to houses on that dead end road!" She jests with a chuckle.
Before I can say anything, Candace offers, " Why don't you come out to Archie's Place, a local diner with a little bar. All the locals go there on Saturdays, before heading to the Bath community church on Sundays. We will go with you and help get you comfy with the town. After we can go back to our place and watch the stars and get to know each other for a bit? What do ya say?"
"Sounds rather nice, I will let y'all get on your way, I am both sorry and thankful again."
"Alrighty, be safe now you hear?" They say in unison.
"Sure thang, see y'all later!" to which I finish.
That was nice, and it got my mind off of him and the never ending work I am in for. Off to my building.
