One thing that I understood from Dad was that, no matter how hard the situation is, I should keep on and give my all. And until then, when the result shall cease, whether it's a success or a loss, I will not feel bad for I have done my best in that amount of time. This is surely a battleground and the only thing to proceed is to aspire harder. Beating myself up until my last breath is needed in order to withstand.
Life is cruel, so I don't need to tame myself from it. I'll be the seeker rather than the dupe of its own.
Her tears were resemblance of her hurting deep inside. Amber didn't bother to look or worry about our reaction. She just cried and cried until she could feel the last teardrop that she could make, till she loosen the grip to her agony.
Ms. Everly was wiping her back and let her have a moment. She didn't hurry. Amber was taking her term and we know that she preferred it.
We waited for her and kept our hush. Moments later, she slowly pulled from the hug and dried her face. She wiped off her tears and made a serious look.
"I'll do it." She said steadfastly.
Everyone was stunned at the same time was impressed with her answer and extravagant. Ms. Everly glowed at her and patted her on her rear."That's my girl."
___
Amber kept in scratching her top as she moved back and forth in front of us, drowning too deep in her thoughts. She's been on edge when Ms. Every explained it all. Uncertainty called upon when we realized that our goals are not that easy and might be stumbling us along. I massaged my temple as I felt dazed with what she's working.
I heard Guiltz took a squeak and announced, "Will you stop that? You're making me dizzy. There's no need to rush when you feel it's too much."
Amber glared at him as she touched the pendant on her neck. She was thinking about something.
It has been fifteen minutes when Ms. Everly left us for and went to the secret path where Guiltz entered a while ago to get us some tea. She acquainted us that she needed to do something, which is just connected with this matter.
Onis was on his spot, peeking over Amber.
"If something is bothering you, we could lend you some ears. You need to let some things out for you not to burst." He commented.
"Why it has to be her from the start? I don't know if I can do it..." She blubbered to herself. "This is not what I agreed to. Is there another way for us to change the list? What if she'll recognize that I'm not the one holding my body and that I'm acting definitely. Mr. Buenavidez might also be there and try to ask Trenton several questions. And...and I'll be able to see that child too."
I couldn't handle myself anymore that I took my stand in front of her. I yanked her by the arm and it made her stop her walk. She looked at me with a pretentious mood. "What?"
"Stop moving. You're not a ticking wall clock. Come on, Amber. Tell me what's wrong."
She grazed upon me and her face was worried.
"I think I couldn't face her."
"Who-"
I didn't finish what I was talking about when the wall started to open wide and Ms. Everly stepped outside. Her face was delighted, bringing with her an hourglass with gold sand inside.
She moved towards us and laid it on the table.
She tightened her arms and dried off a sweat on her right cheek. She also changed her clothes into a ruddy dress with her black shimmering cape. She was also wearing an angel pendant necklace.
"It took me longer than before in making that. Also to add, not one of us here could change the list. You need to follow it."
"Precisely. Do you need my help next time, Ms. Willow?" Onis pondered.
The woman gave him a thumbs up and smiled. She was still catching her puff. "Yeah. I should probably ask you to lend me a hand next time."
"Do you think this will work?" Guiltz worriedly asked.
The woman clasped her hand. "Well, let's see."
She instantly turned the glass hour and the sand slowly fell on its other side. She clapped several times and was surely happy about it.
"What's happening?" I inquired.
"This will serve as your time. It's equivalent for three years and within that span of moment, you need to collect all and have them inside that necklace she was wearing."
"Oh, before I forgot." She flicked her hands the same time again and a golden whistle unexpectedly appeared, floating in the thin air. Ms. Everly took it and bestowed it to me, making me gasp when it landed on my palm. "What am I going to do with this?"
"That will serve as your tool to call me. Just blow it and I'll be with you anywhere and any time. Just don't blow it every single while. I also have other important duties that I'm handling. Use it when it's needed, okay? Now, keep it and never lose it. You don't want your godmother to vanish." She added and winked.
I'm not sure if it's a threat, but I put it in my mind about what she said. I placed the whistle in one of my pockets for security. Somehow, it weighed more than the usual one.
"Three years, huh? Is that a joke?" Amber hysterically uttered.
"Obviously, it is not." Guiltz answered.
Amber let out a frustrating whiff. She brought her hands up as if she's surrendering. "Okay, I get it. This is how destiny is f*cking me right now. And if the Young Master whom you're talking is listening, then he should know that I'm not backing out this time and I'll definitely play his goddamn game."
"She's going to give her all, I can sense it." Onis remarked.
"I shall pray to the heavens that it will guide you in your journey. And, may you find the will to continue even still it will be arduous. Be stiff and never waiver." Guiltz said, taking a bow to both of us.
She wistfully took the hourglass and held it tight. She grazed at Ms. Everly. "Now, who will be the first?"
"Aliana Kaye Madison." The woman answered.
Her eyes glowed in madness. The beast had finally awakened and now she's taking her turn to bring back what was taken from her. Amber is getting the hype and she surely is determined to do what it takes no matter what. And this is the time that I took her name,
Amber Kate Madison.
